Diff. Between Apple Azalia & Apple HDA

I have two mobo and both of them using alc 885/888 and 889A codec (run flawless using AppleAzalia.kext) i dont mind getting stereo output only.. but i just wondering for you guys who patch applehda on-the-fly diy is there any differences you hear when using azalia kext and dsdt patch beside all port working ofcourse ( such as better audio, more crystal sound etc...)
