myzar
I'm really excited. Lol.Not with leopard features, but with NVidia 7300GT drivers Eheheh. Great news. I totally agree that's the best WWDC news Let's hope it can be hacked to work on a 6600gt too, or atleast a 7600gt that i'm planning to buy soon. IF apple is already selling the new assemblies isn't 10.4.8 supposed to be already around ?
sandmanfvrga
Like I posted in another thread, there were Nvidia cards in the PowerMac G5's and no drivers to download. So......

Superhai
I am sure they are speically tailored cards for the mac, with firmware onboard. There will be drivers but requires the firmware.

Like EFI? But I think it wouldn't be a problem. At least we can try to do something like hack them...
MasterBetty
Anyone else notice this thing only accepts fully buffered DIMMS? Memory upgrades are gonna be expensive , and the timings on buffered memory sucks.
LlamaV3
this is rubbish, it is the developers conference, and the developers login on apples website has been taken offline. the kicker is that all the stores are open. nice to know how much apple value developers. Takuro
I came back home after 2 hours out and caught up on the WWDC hype. All I found was a lackthereof. I'm really disappointed. The new iChat features look amazing, but the operating system itself doesn't seem to have been shown. That is, unless they do intend on keeping the Tiger GUI. Aside from Leopard and the Mac Pro being showcased, there was seriouslly nothing else mentioned? No iPod announcements, no 3rd party software announcements, no displays upgrade announcements? Ugggh But I'm glad to see there's a Mac Pro that even I can afford. I'll avoid buying the first wave and hold off till they get Blu Ray. I'm definately getting one. Running at up to 3GHz, it’s a state-of-the-art processor that — from day one — makes the Mac Pro one of the fastest desktop computers on the planet. Not to be a pessimist, but aren't computers generally at their prime when they first release and then, over time, they are considered unimpressive? In 1 year, the world's fastest computer might be the 50th fastest.

INFNITE
There was however a drop in price for the Cinema Displays. Also, new Xserve was released today. This is a developers conference..did you really expect a new iPod or iPhone? as far as Leopard, Apple only selected 10 showcase features that were demonstrated to prevent M$ from copying. I'm sure the full Leopard beta will be shown at MacWorld 07 a few months before official release (including a new revamped Finder). I have a feeling that Microsoft is working right now to copy that Time Machine feature right into Vista.

You must be really clueless to think that m$ can copy something at this stage of vista development, and yes that system restore on steroids is present on vista already http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060730-7383.html
Superhai
Anyone else notice this thing only accepts fully buffered DIMMS? Memory upgrades are gonna be expensive , and the timings on buffered memory sucks. Macs have never been an overclocker or gamers-freak computer. I have a feeling they will never put out a machine in that class. FB-DIMMs are what the 5000 series chipset from intel supports. And maybe not as fast, but rocksteady even after heavy use, in heavy environment. (Ever been in a sound studio, with coffee-drinking and (weed-)smoking technicians and guitarists?) Also in server environments buffered is mandatory.
