Mac Pro vs. G5: 1) Big jmp in performance -- 1.6 to 2.1x faster than the G5 QUAD! 2) Roughly 2x speed increase in real-world useage. "It's a great chip" 3) Each chip has roughly 25GB/sec bandwidth, across 4 channels. 4) 256 bit wide memory access 5) twice the bus of hte G5 6) Less cooling in the box 7) room for up to FOUR hard drives 8) Up to 2 TB of internal storage 9) Second optical drive 10) Increased front I/O as well as back I/O 11) 4 PCI Express slots 12) Graphics slot at bottom, double the space for a larger graphics card 13) Drive Carriers - Insert drives without any tools, just snap them into place 14) Processors take no space up inside.
