bubbaganoush
It should probably work pretty will with the Core 2 Duo. What graphics card are you running?

WillyDavidK
You've already got your hands on a conroe?? That just came out a couple of weeks ago! Is it one of those new dell xps's or did you built it yourself. If the latter is true, where did you get conroe (core 2 duo) from??
wannamacbad
in reply to bubbaganoush The 975x is an excellent chipset. thats good b/c it was extremely pricey and thank you again for your help by the way even though the video card is not agp is it still a good gaming card? in reply to david tigerdirect.com has all current intel cpu's the problem is the motherboard http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/ca....asp?CatId=2396 sorry wrong link the correct link is as follows http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Ca....asp?CatId=1969 from there you can pick your catagory
bubbaganoush
You still haven't said what graphics card you have installed. The 975x chipset is only the hub that connects various parts of the system.
wannamacbad
i'm sorry i havn't picked one yet i was thinking about A G-FORCE PNY Verto GeForce 7600 GT 256MB PCIe
bubbaganoush
PCI-E can provide a much faster interface for the graphics card but I'm pretty sure at the moment even with the fastest single card setups there is little or no difference in performance at all between AGP and PCI-E. I have no idea how well Geforce cards work in OSX86 but the Radeon x1600, x1800 and x1900 seem to have worked pretty well so far.
wannamacbad
XFX GeForce 6800 Xtreme / 256MB GDDR3 / AGP 8x / Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card this is the agp card i was looking at agp's are much cheaper thats why i was wandering
bubbaganoush
That motherboard does not support AGP cards.
wannamacbad
i was going to use gforce b/c thats the standard cards mac use but if you recomend radeon... then i'll check them out as well i havn't bought any yet
bubbaganoush
I know that the Radeon cards I mention above work very well using that Borisbadenov driver install. If there are Nvidia cards that work well in OSX86 then get one of those if you want. Both manufacturers make excellent graphics cards.

Baliw
As bubbaganoush said, ATI x1600 pro, X1800 and X1900 are the only ones that are compatible with OSX atm. better get ATI not Nvidia . And go here for more information about ATI cards that are supported. HTH
