Swad
If you're a serious Mac gamer, don't miss the just-released Universal Quake 4 Demo. Be sure and let us know what you think about it (and a few benchmarks if you get the chance)! Download at Macgamefiles.com

bubbaganoush
Seems to run very well. I don't have any numbers right now cause I don't know how to get the FPS to show or how to run any benchmarks on this thing... My system specs: Pentium D 940 P5WD2-E Premium 1024MB Powercolor x1900xtx This install is running on a really crappy old harddrive too. It's 6gb drive that can only do DMA 2 and has a bad SMART status. It's probably going to explode any second now. Anyways...some of the benchmarks may not be a fair comparison to the Windows ones on this kind of machine since it only detects a max of 256mb on the 512mb graphics cards. Takuro
This game is blazing compared to the Windows version. I've got the video settings pushed to the max and everything is crystal clear without so much as a hickup in performance. I had to tone a lot of things down when I tried to play it on XP, and even then the FPS sucked. Note: If you have disabled Beamsync to boost your system performance, you may have distortion when trying to run this game in full screen. Just reenable it and you're good to go. You can probably find a quicker route via Applescript to automate it every time you boot the game.
bubbaganoush
The FPS is capped at 60 fps for some reason even though I have vertical sync disabled in game.

MacApprentice
I got a problem with this, all text strings are repalced by there reference, like #str_212001. this makes the game config unusable. Anyone got that problem?
mahoutie
In the advanced settings, it says that there is no sound device on my system. Any ideas? Thanks!
MacApprentice
found out what my problem was, the demo is buggy. My system is set to french language and for the game to display properly I need to set it to english. It seems the game auto detect language and set strings/vocals accordingly but the demo only got english files.
