Dear MaLd0n,

it did not work ... now the system does not start at all ... what I get is a grey screen with the apple logo in the middle of the page ....

I am ready to start from scratch ... could you kindly suggest the best guide or way to do a plain new installation of the Mac OS .. I have a retail copy of the SL10.6.3.

Thanks again for your help ..

maybe is itbetter a new specifi Kernel ?? or a specific dsdt ?? or ?? ... In any case i can only say thanks for your time and patience..

This time USB bus shows up as BUILT-IN under system profiler. so i guess this is good, but when i put the system to sleep with the power button, and if click on the mouse or the keyboard the system wakes up but BLACK SCREEN like on standby. weird!!!

you're out of luck aaa_icon_crazy.gif

the USBS were corrected

I do not know how to solve the other problem

hey maldon

i've been trying for hours now to understand dsdt but i'm not getting any closer with this:

i have a lenovo z560 i5 2,26 ghz with 6gb ram with the wifi card exchanged to atheros ar5bxb6

i was able to extract the dsdt with everest in win 7 64bit that i attached to this post. the dsdt has some errors that i wasnt able to fix.

right now i'm using the dsdt which is for a z560 i3 with 2gb ram from here

it works well but sometimes i get kernel panics when starting up... thats why i'm trying to have my own custom dsdt.

i also tried a dsdt from a z560 i5 (http://www.tonymacx86.com/download/file.php?id=6924) but this dsdt doesnt give me resolution change

any help would be gladly appreciated!

Ok, so I'm a BIT confused with this thread. It's very hard to follow with the first post being kind of all over the place.

What exactly, out of what you've provided on the first post, do I need to properly patch the EVGA Classified SR-2 board?

The specs for it are as follows btw:

 • North Bridge: Intel 5520 Chipset
 • South Bridge: Intel ICH10R Chipset
 • Audio Chipset: Realtek ALC889
 • LAN Chipset: 2 x Marvell 88E8057
 • Triple Channel DDR3 w/ Maximum of 48GB of DDR3 1333MHz+
 • Also has support for USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbp/s

1- Copy the Extra folder to your boot partition

2- Install Chameleon RC5 (in Snow Leopard or EFI partition)

3- Run DSDT Auto-Patcher and copy the generated DSDT to the Extra folder

4- Update the system to 10.6.7

Ok. Now can I still do the initial boot with #####, or am I bound to the boot CD you posted?

And, also, I know that ##### takes care of SOME of the things in your post (like installing Chameleon and certain kext files for sound and USB drivers). Is it ok to use this for some things as long as we DON'T use it for the DSDT file? Or does DSDT Auto-Patcher provide most of these files?

And I'm sorry loll, but I'm asking these questions because the more automated the process, the better it'll be for me lol.

Hi MaldOn!

i don`t get anything when i run ioreg -lw0 | grep CSTInfo

and when i run ioreg -lw0 | grep PerformanceStateArray, it`s different.

Does it mean that maybe C states aren`t working. i enabled C-states in Bios. is it important to have C states working?. maybe THAT could fix my wake-from-sleep-not-working problem!, No?

you have a problem without cst

you added in boot.plist?

<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>

I think yes...no problem without setting in boot.plist also

here

The Dell default bios P-states work just fine, and the C-states do not work at all, so you do not need to generate P or C states.

this may be your problem

so what do i do. i just go ahead and disable C states or what exactly?

many DELL computers exhibit this problem

I do not know solution
