Use Auto-Patcher, DSDT in Extra or root of the HD

reboot

use Gigabyte HDEF and LegacyHda en E/E

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=87699

Thanks, I haven't used the Auto-Patcher before. I hope I can get it to work right.

I appreciate your quick response and help; you are an essential asset to these forums.

Quick question; in the com.apple.Boot.plist you sent me I noticed the lack of DropSSDT=Yes.

I'm not quiet sure of what that does; but I hope that'll take care of some temperature problem I'm having too.

I was getting typical 37 Deg C idle temp on my all my CPU cores running on 10.5.8, now it's about 45 Deg C average idle temp on 10.6.7.

I will try your instructions tonight when I get home, hopefully it'll make my hack nice and smooth again.

Thank you so much!

Oh since you're looking into this for me, could you do me an extra favor and see why my nVidia GTS250 1GB Dual DVI ports doesn't work fully? It's setup for Graphics enabler and loads perfect when I have one monitor, but when I put two monitor it sends me to a blank screen when OSX comes to the desktop. When I hot plug in the second monitor, my OSX freezes.

Thanks!

I used the auto-patcher to patch a ga p67a-ud3-b3. It successfully built but on boot i have yellow drive icons, no sleep. Im assuming it doesnt work for the b3s?

see the first post

*ESB2 AHCI (silver icons for internal HDs instead of orange ones)

This "fix" was not used

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=86095

sleep

you need native PM and Vanilla kernel

if you use kernel hack

use sleepenabler

Using vanilla kernel from 10.6.7, but not sure how to get native PM. Is that just enabling p and s states? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181631 No sleepenabler for 10.6.7 yet.

Edit: Doesnt seem that method is working to find the p state codes...

Thanks for checking out my configuration, I will try it tonight.... If sounds still does not work, I'm going to just get a USB sound card.

Regards to the video card: My apologies for asking a question that could be answer by searching. Although I've tried it extensively before asking. I will try again, sorry.

btw... the "internal speakers" option uses DSP to highpass the audio. Not recommended for audio output through external speakers or an amp.

This configuration is incorrect in the patcher app (at least on my GA-P67A-UD5-B3 (uses 889)

for Gigabyte Mobos

In some motherboards the audio codec may change from one revision to another, so you can use this to apply the correct patch to your revision.

Thanks for all your help, I tried what you suggested, but no luck. I went ahead and order my USB soundcard.

But just want to "tinker" with thinks so, I try to extra my soundcard codec (as per link above), and don't know how to apply it now as I have two dsdt.aml files. One from the motherboard, and one from the built in soundcard.

How do I combine them?

Thanks.

Man

what is the correct codec?

I wish I knew... How about I attach the DSDT file from the Gigabyte Audio extractor?

I am not sure how to combine both the DSDT from the Auto-Pather and the DSDT from the Gigabyte Audio Extractor.

Can I use two DSDT at the same time?

Thanks
