Thank you very much for the Patch.

It has solved some problems. I now have nativePM, Restart is working out of the box, Wifi now comes on but can't find networks.

Graphics are still problematic when using the vanilla kext, The screen flashes blue then goes blank on restart and if I try to adjust the volume, I can hear some sound which means that Lion is on.

Sorry for being such a n00b but would you mind telling me what you are using to compile the dsdt? It gives me compile errors when I try to use DSDTSE. If I could get it to compile , I could try to add some edits like this one. and see if it helps.

My original intel HD3000 device id was 0x0116 but I see that it has changed to 0x0126 after the dsdt patch, could this help?

Ooh and buy the way, this laptop is very similar to the Probook 4530s, The only difference I see is in screen size, 17" vs 15". I even used their guide to get it to boot and install lion.

I have been try to make this laptop work for the last 4 days and I simple can't give up!

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Forgot to mention sleep seems to work with the blank screen.

Thanks again.

Hi MaLd0n

Would you be so kind as to look at the attached send_me.zip. Everything sort of works except sound via HDMI/DVI but I am getting lots of kernel panics.

bluetooth is a problem

I have no idea about it

Found this thread and with that kext bluetooth now works:

Any idea for a more "vanilla" DSDT solution?

Thanks.

@Mald0n, thanks for compiling the dsdt from my acpi_dsdt.bin (for the HP Pavilion dv7-6180sl)

I tried that with Lion install but it still stops when it comes to load the GUI.

Can you try inserting in my dsdt some patch for the graphics? maybe something like what appleworm talks about here...

I'd like to try that myself but DSDTSE complain withs errors if I try to open and recompile the DSDT you made for me, even without editing it.

question:

recently updated to 10.7 and then 10.7.1. used xmove method, went flawlessly.

one issue that is a carry-over from 10.6 is that auto-sleep doesn't work. energy saver correctly set. it doesn't really bug me but i thought since i was going to Lion i would try to fix it.

so i patched the dsdt for my board - ga-ep35-ds3l - from a dsdt that i extracted in windows using everest. replaced my current one, rebooted. no fix for auto-sleep that way. it's no big deal, it was just something to try.

but the interesting thing is now audio is not working. no other changes to the set up except the auto-patched dsdt. i reverted to my earlier dsdt and audio returned. something in there not working right, and mostly for curiosity where i should check the auto-patched dsdt for the audio so that i can compare?
