Sorry, but I am a noob. Where do I find the sandy bridge or 10.6.8 update? Do I need to remove any kext before I use this? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Found the updates and have both downloaded! Try to install Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update for MacBook Pro (Early 2011) and got this error. Please see attached. Do I run the 10k537 Delta or Combo Update? And do I need to remove any Kexts out of EE or SLE?

Could not attach any .tiffs... Any ways, the error said I can't install Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update for MacBook Pro (Early 2011) on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.

MaLd0n you are the Guru - Thanks man.

you remove AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext? post-557433-1308258539.gif

No I did not remove AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext - it is not loading for some reason which I cannot figure out.

I wonder if it something to do with the CPU setting in the BIOS / DSDT.

With your patched DSDT, I see 8 CPU's being found. See photo of the bootloader screen.

So I thought let's look at the dsdt file you sent. But when I open that file with DSDTSE editor, the first line I see is:

ACPI Warning: NsLookup: Type mismatch on WPSC (RegionField), searching for (Buffer) (20091214/nsaccess-731)

I don't know if that's a problem with the tool in decompiling your dsdt file or the file itself.

Or is it a problem with the original dsdt ?

So, I commented out that line.

I also reduced the number of CPU's (but not sure about how to change the C-States and P-States entries).

I compiled that file. There were no errors but a few warnings about _DOD not having return values.

I have attached the .dsl file.

I boot with the resulting dsdt file and now the bootloader only finds 4 CPU's but it is still not loading AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. See the kernel log file attached.

With this dsdt (and your dsdt) file, I also noticed sometimes that some ACPIButtons.kext fails to load too but it's inconsistent.

Appreciate your help to find a solution.

Use DSDT EDITOR and PATCHER

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=223205

P and C States use Chameleon RC5

Use smbios MacBookPro6,1

Warnings in DSDT, no problem

look at the PNP0303, remove _DSM

try it

I have deleted the kext files for evoreboot and nullcpupowermanagement and used kext utility to rebuild .mkext files but kextstat still shows them as loaded after a reboot??? any ideas...

Extra/Extensions or System/Library/Extensions or Extensions.mkext or EFI

_DOD not returning value is ... External (in ssdt) call to a control for video display. is it a hybrid video ?

Or _DOD needs to return zero

also the wireless . to get it to work try the AR9287 driver with kernel replacement.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

just to clarify for dell laptops at least.. the (USB) disk ejected error needs usb wakeup enabled in bios and only works when plugged in to AC.

on desktops most have emable usb wake up... im almost sure theres a register somewhere that can be changed in dsdt for sata . and for usb

Hello MaLd0n,

first off thanks for your wonderfull patcher and usb install method :(

here is the info from my notebook ASUS K50IN.

It works very good "vanilla" like, but it would be nice if we had the fixes in one place :)

There is a topic on the russian OSX forum with some dsdt fixes (SMBusFix, HDEF and simmilar) http://www.applelife.ru/topic/21601-asus-k...419#entry167419

but i dont know how to apply them and dont use dsdt for the notebook (rely on kexts)

Apart from that the desktop i have P5Q PRO works very well with the auto patcher :)

If something is needed (info, kexts) please let me know,

thanks in advance,

Cheers
