Mammoth
HI MaLd0n! As always, thank you VERY much for your help! < MaLd0n I'm hoping you can help us all out; a lot of people from my thread are having sound issues as apparently the audio chip/codec in their machines is different than in my DV8. What I REALLY would like to do is create the command strings for binary patching AppleHDA.kext, which I feel is the very best, and easiest way to solve this. Question: Is there a tutorial that tells how to create these for any audio chip/codec? And if not, is there somewhere I can learn to do it? This is something I would add to my guides so that everyone could get their sound working. THANKS AGAIN!

nesnfsn
MaLd0n Have 2 computers that I could use your assistance with. First is at home, and is a Sony Vaio VGN-AR840E without AHCI nor many other options in BIOS configuration menu. I am attaching dsdt.aml, lspci.txt and hwinfo.txt generated in Ultimate Edition 2.9 64-bit (ubuntu variant). Do not have OS X installed on it yet, so used linux already installed on a partition. Compressed into zip file. Other computer is a home built hodge podge of components with an Asus P6T motherboard (not SE or Deluxe). When I can get to it at office, I will run similar commands with linux, unless you advise that I need to run from OS X (not sure how to do that without OS X already being installed). Thank you for any help, nesnfsn in sunny South Florida

nesnfsn
dsdt.aml_mlstudio.zip AHCI ICH10 ALIAS DTGP FRWR HID/CID IRQs LAN0 MUTE REMOVE RENAME SBUS SHUTDOWN FIX WARNINGS Thank you for providing me a dsdt zip file for use on my Sony notebook tonight or over the weekend. Hope it works. I am replying to this post, as it is the first time within this thread that I had noticed that you provided someone a dsdt file, followed by a listing of various items (AHCI ICH10, ALIAS, DTGP, FRWR, etc.). I have not found any explanation as to what you are telling a user to do with these items. Are these options to be selected in the DSDT Auto Patcher? If so, that would make sense. Just want to know what to do with the items you had suggested in the post following the DSDT file you have modified for my Sony notebook. Thank you for all of your patience and assistance with me, and the many that have come to you for assistance before me. nesnfsn in sunny South Florida
