Maldon, I decided to rebuild my machine and here is where I'm stuck.

SL Retail

Used ##### to boot machine and get to the desktop

Installed Marvell kext for network

Installed Chameleon RC5 r747

(So far Audio and Graphics working fine)

Placed your Extra folder package and rebooted

Graphics are not correct so I used EFI Studio to inject the EFI of my card and graphics now works

Used DSDT Patcher to generate DSDT file and rebooted

At this time I no longer have audio

If I reboot with ##### I do have audio

Binary patching the AppleHDA did not help.

So either the Chameleon that I installed is not working correctly or my DSDT file that was generated is not correct. I do know that when I use ##### CD my audio works natively.

I'm still at 10.6, I have not upgraded SL yet.

There is nothing wrong with the DSDT

with the Chameleon I can not answer

use the topic of the Chameleon

You need to understand the process

so it is difficult

HDEF with binary patch solves the audio?

Where's legacy?

you can patch the binary and modify info.plist

that way you will not need the legacy

:)

"for Gigabyte Mobos

In some motherboards the audio codec may change from one revision to another, so you can use this to apply the correct patch to your revision."

Here is what my Audio section states when I use Chameleon RC5 with DSDT made from DSDT Auto Patcher (I also tried the HDEF version as well and got same results) and Audio DOES NOT work.

The only kext I have in /E/E is FakeSMC.kext. The only other kext I installed was for my USB3 PCIe card and Marvell network card. I do not have legacy kext. I applied the binary patch after I saw that the audio wasn't working. I'm also still on 10.6 I have not upgraded OSX to anything above that. I may try to do that anyway.

I tried to add this in my com.Apple.Boot.plist

<key>DropSSDT</key>
<string></string>
<key>GeneratePStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>

But no result...the way is correct? You have any ideas? 60 sixty pages by read are many...

if you add this in boot.plist do not use the last DSDT that I have sent

I do not know why this problem

So, you advise me to use the old DSDT + NullCPUPowerManagement + strings in boot.plist?

Hi maldon,

I can not work to the audio spdif video card that goes in with no kext (ad20000b - AppleHDA, VoodooHDA).

That is, everything but audio works that use the SPDIF output to connect the LCD TV to video card.

Can you help me?

My videocard is GTX260 my motherboard is Asus p5q-e

Attached is my dsdt file extracted with the auto patcher.

Thanks

on some cards it has its own separate codec chip for vdeo card spdif.. on older cases it has spdif jumper pins to plug in the cable from audio card of pc.

my gts250 is jumper cables . so audio onboard has to enable spdif driver.. applehda or voodoohda. hope that helps you find the info.

Noob alert!

Are there any reason why this same idea/concept wouldn't work for a amd/ati based board?

I have a alc883 audio card and here is my edited DSDT.aml file.

Sleep/Wake work, sound works with voodoohda although no spdif (which I need)

MSI K9A with LV BE2300 CPU 1.9 gig future media machine, we hope!

Thanks for any help
