Hi MaLd0n. I need some help here. I have some sleep/shutdown problems with my new mobo.

When i put computer to sleep, it shuts down itself nicely but when i wake it up i have no signal in monitor. Also my USB keyboard/mouse are off but when i click on some mouse button, mouse wakes up... the same with the keyboard.

When i shut down PC, it shuts down fine too but when i turn it back on, nothing will happen for about 8 seconds, then it restarts itself and turn on normally.

All my USB ports are built-in, no orange SATA icon... I'm attaching my untouched and current DSDTs for reference.

Thanks!

Hi man :(

A few days ago you helped me with the sound of my Asus p5k3 deluxe , now, I realized that maybe there are small problems, I do not know with certainty

localhost kernel[0]: Not loading kext com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController - not found and kextd not available in early boot.

this in my kernel.log

This is a problem or not? Thanks for all your epic work :)

p.s.

MacPro-di-fiox:~ fiox$ ls /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/

Hello MaLd0n, i have tried with little success getting my mobo to work with a modded dsdt. I found a post that really gave me some hope here (post 1100 in this thread), but still i am quite confused. I have included the send me.zip below. Currently when i try to sleep, the display immediately shuts off but the computer remains awake.

OSX 10.6.6 totally updated

IN my ideal scenario, i would like to have as much native as possible, with full sleep/restart/shutdown. currently i have null cpu powermanagement as well. I use my hackintosh for an audio recording rig. When i was a windows kid, it was recomended to disable speedstep to ensure consistent processor power to the apps. In mac it may be different though. Is there a possibility of losing performace by using native power management? Can you enable native power management without using speedstep? I was told from a reputable source that speedstep makes overclocks unstable. I use water cooling in my rig and normally run my chip at 3.6ghz. temps of 40 degrees on idle and 60 on max load. problem was caused a few kinks in protools so i went to a much milder overclock.

If i can use native power management without speedstep to be able to represent my temps more accurately, that would be awesome.

can you point me to how to properly patch either voodoohda or applehda for my mobo's codec as well? I don't even know how to determine what that is as i keep reading conflicting posts.

i have a pny geforce 9800gt ee (since it is an "energy efficient" non-reference video card, it is actually capable of less than a normal 9800gt card as it is intentionally underclocked and runs on less power (the card has no secondary power connector, just gets power from pcie slot) as a result i think i am getting artifacts in certain apps when using graphics enabler and chameleon rc5 because it is recognized as a normal 9800gt. I have the actual rom bios of my card, at least i think (it was given to me from another user). would it be better to load my cards bios using chameleon, or instead add specific dsdt edits suited for my video card? If so, how do i figure out how to edit dsdt for my card? If you can point me to some information i would be very grateful.

10de_0614.rom.zip

Try as I might, my right sided brain has a lot of trouble with dsdt editing. EVerytime i have tried, i have managed to panic my dang system. You being so generous with your time, i had hoped you might help me too. :-)

Your amigo

Mac and CHeese

god bless you! :-)

i know this is a lot. I'm sorry, i didn't want to miss anything.

also, i have no idea how to set up slices version of fakesmc with the plugins and what not. i would after all is said and done also be able to monitor fan speed, gpu temp, etc etc. but first things first (unless you know how and want to be my best friend and show me :-)

I never had this problem

hi maldon, i didn't solve anything yet of my problems (acer 7720g) sleep and audio with applehda. I attached audiocodec dump from linux at my previous post at previous pages...

Any news? Is anyone capable of building a proper LegacyHDA for the codecdump i provided?

Thanks, really!!

Hi MaLd0n,

shutdown, restart, speed stepping are working fine.

Vcore looks like it doesn't change.

Do you have any idea?

Hi MaLd0n,

i modified my DSDT to get native power management.

see http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=246639

Is it possible to get also sleep working?

you have fixed the USB?

I would like to find a fix DSDT

kext should be a good way

try if removing BuiltInHDA and PreservePinConfigurations helps

and use 10.6.2 AppleHDA

@MaLd0n

No, I haven't t fixed USB yet.

Nforce DSDTs examples are rare.

I'm not sure what the Apple style name for USB0 / USB2 is. UHC1 and UHC2?

Should i delete everything in the Device(USB*) part or should i just add a method?
