ATi HD5000 BootLoader !

I've got Kabyl's /boot file, and none of framebuffers work. I think it might be related, however, to the fact that I have a built-in graphics that I can't really disable. (I'm running my ATI card as my primary display). When I do Wait=yes -v, I get the following:

Using PCI-Root-UID value: 0
Intel VGA Controller [8086:a001] :: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) (currently NOT SUPPORTED)
Unsupported card!

And no mention of the framebuffer at all. Is there a way to force it to use the ATI card?

I've switched to the drivers from 10.6.5 beta, and I'm no longer getting the kernel panic. I'm only half way through the frame buffers, however, and so far I never get anything after the line 'Login Window Application Started'

I'm still hung up on this... Is there any way to make sure the injector uses the correct video card?

i need from you to know the name to know what is the sitaution of gfxs

so if you have ubuntu

run teriminal and type

lspci -nn

and copy details here

This is the state of things when I tell the BIOS to run the onboard video first (from Mac). I'll reboot to ubuntu in just a minute:

I just ran it under ubuntu and get the same results, even with the Radeon set to load up first in BIOS

>>> same result :) to fix it you need both dvi to be connected to display.

But I need to swap my div ports every time I boot, if not i'm black screen after apple boot.

Hdmi is working fine.

I'm using Vervet bootloader.

I have the VisionTek 512 MB (not 1 GB) version (DVI/HDMI/VGA) with the same ID (1002:68F9). Same bootfile and AtiFb=Vervet. 10.6.5 combo update (includes Graphics Update 1.0) has been applied. First off - no Kitchen Pitchin (the first time I've managed that) either prior to, or since, the mods to ATI5000Controller.kext (the device ID is not in the list for this kext; I had to add it manually). DVI and HDMI ports are connected (D-sub isn't, as it won't work if DVI and HDMI are connected), and either works just fine (in fact, I switched from one to the other while entering this); however, I'm back to 1024x768. I'm going to try Uakari next (however, I know that Vervet works as a fallback).

No change with Uakari (instead of Vervet); however, that also includes no Kitchen Pitchin, either.

chinese_spy; I take it you are in the same situation (or have you actually managed to get it to work)?

I'm getting as far as:

** Device in slot: SLOT--1 **

which shows up 3 times and the computer does not continue booting. This is using kaybl's bootloader file with Chameleon RC5 from Oct 25th. Anyone have any idea what could be causing it to hang right there? Unfortunately verbose mode isnt giving me much to work with and searches don't turn up very much.

My system specs are as follows:

Gigabyte EP45-UD3P v1.6 (Cartri 0.8 bios)

Intel Q8400

Gigabyte SOC 5770 (both DVI work OOB, return from sleep causes artifacts, HDMI and DP not working in OSX currently)

Are you sure the boot sequence doesn't finnish and what you see is just a freeze of the last frame of video posted? can you VNC into the machine?

try without UseATiROM in boot plist - if you have it there! and also check you don't have VBIOS=No

VBIOS=Yes is default.

You'll have to bear with me I haven't followed the scene in a while (after I got my first hackintosh running smoothly I stopped messing around with DSDT editing etc. What are you referring to when you mention pfix?

well normally after that message the screens should go blank as OSX goes to load the gui (it does when I have use the boot cd). I haven't tried VNC'ing into the machine but my hunch is that the issue is with trying to get the gui going

my boot.plist file is pretty much empty right now.

If it makes it interesting at all, I used a SL retail install disc, proceeded to drop the 10.6.5 combo update and using Cartri's boot CD and the recommended version of Cham I can boot to a desktop with both DVI displays. My two focuses are trying to identify the issue with not being able to use the DP as a 3rd display, and having a corrrupted display when coming back from sleep.

Good call with using VNC, I am able to see the desktop so it's definately an issue dropping Kaybl's boot.gzip file onto the root of the drive. If I restore Cartri's bios I can boot to the desktop. What I noticed when checking the Graphics/Displays my card is no longer detected properly. I will try some of the other bl's but there were two ppl in the Gigabyte Mac bios that were saying they had success using Kaybl's bl with Cham
