Hi Mohamed,

I am stuck here:

* Now we finish our work

*First download 10.6.4 update from apple

*After Setup Dont restart

*Setup Chamelon RC4

*after Setup boot loader put your boot.plist that contian flag busratio=16 on extra it is very important to next step

*After thus setup legacy kernel it will add kernel name to boot.plist we added before and patch CPUID

*before you reboot you must install FakeSMC.kext use Kext helper from here with latest Fakesmc

*Now you can Restart

*After restart you can now install your kexts you need eth , Audio , GFX

*There A good library for kexts from NAWCOM thanks to him you can download what you want from here

The update and Chameleon install seemed to work but both Installers "Quit unexpectedly" a minute or two after they completed.

Kext Helper b7 "Quit unexpectedly" every time i try to open it.

Is it possible to manually install the FakeSMC.kext?

*EDIT*

Reinstalled and everything went OK (except Kext Helper still quits)

I have used EasyBCD to add Snow Leopard entry to the bootloader but if I select Snow Leopard I get "Chain boot error"

I read somewhere about "tboot" and used that file but it gives me "No HFS partition found" instead of the chain boot error.

The only way I can boot Snow is to use your boot CD.

Can you think of any solution to my problem?

Also, I have to use -force64 everytime i boot. Is that normal?

Regards

System:

Windows 7 on disk0s1

Snow on disk1s2

Thanx for the guide.

Restored the retail DVD on external HDD, followed your instruction. Booting - success. But boot process stucks at line:

Warninng - com.apple.driver.AppleOnboardPCATA declares no dependencies; using com.apple.kernel.6.0.

my specs:

Mobo:Biostar TA790GXB A2+

CPU: Unlocked Phenom II B25

GPU: Radeon HD4670

HDD: SATA WD 640GB

ODD: IDE ASUS DVDRW

Any ideas. Thnx.

I reinstalled using the first guide this time.

If i boot without any flags my computer turns off.

If i boot with -force64 -v i get the following error repeating over and over:

Decryption hasn't succeeded yet (probably will retry)
patch_exec_obj_segment failed
map_segment failed

Any idea what this means/how to fix it?

*EDIT*

Scrap that. I noticed there was another error hiding amongst the boot text:

"dyld: shared cached file was build against a different libSystem.dylib, ignoring cache"

I ran this in terminal:

sudo update_dyld_shared_cache

everything seems to be working now.

I successfully installed osx and upgraded to 10.6.5.

And i followed the first guide!

The only thing i had to do is finding a good dsdt.aml file to avoid cmos reset, and OpenHaltRestart.kext for let osx to shutdown and reboot correctly.

My system is:

Phenom2 X4 955

mobo: ga-790fxta-ud5

4Gb DDR3

ATA disk(SATA is not recognized since it's in RAID for windows)

Chamaleon installed in ATA partition and select the booting.

The only things missing are USB3 and i think esata(but in esata connector USB is working good).

Thanks for the guide, you are fantastic.

I think there is something strange with OpenHaltRestart.kext and C1E mode in BIOS.

If C1E is enabled, osx shutdown normally but flash player will drop frames and videos are laggy.

If C1E is disabled, osx shutdown will try to put to sleep and i must reset and then press power to shutdown...but flash player is working good.

Have you any ideas on how to fix?

Someone know if sleep is supported with AMD 790FX and AMD SB750? I think nope, but i just give it a try.

And if there is a chance for hw monitoring like cpu temp...

p.s. im currently using chamaleon RC5 and files from the first guide.

have you tried this in com.apple.Boot?

 <key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1680x1050x32</string>

Anyway latest fakesmc don't work, cause KP...and has damaged my installation, causing certificate error with every login page.

With FakeSMC.kext_Snow_rev319 the system boot and i can see a bounch of sensors like cpu temp, voltage and NB.

Thanks. I think i must have forgot this time around. Finally getting somewhere after 3 days.

Now, if only I could get 1680 x 1050 out of my ATI HD4770 I would be happy

I'm just now messing with Snow on my AMD machine after a year of running Leo without a glitch. I couldn't help but notice Liability that we have the exact same motherboard. But on the CPU-Z screenshots you posted your BIOS is over a year old. I've updated to the latest beta and it seems to have helped the Snow install. Something about better AHCI support.

I tried every method but when I boot the bootcd and load the retail snow leopard disk it loads then it loads then at the very end it says:

ACPI table not found: DSDT.mml

No DSDT found, using 0 as uid value

Using PCI-Root-UID value: 0

nVaidia Unknown 256 NVaa

No SMBIOS replacement found.

Patched DMI Table

Found SMBBIOS SystemID with: (#and letters)

ACPI table not found: DSDT.mml

ACPI table not found: SSDT.mml

Not an Intel platform: Restart fix not applied !!!

Not an Intel platform: Restart fix not applied !!!

Starting Dwarin

Then my whole computer restarts.

I have AMD Athlonx2 QL-60

I am using Phoenixbios 4.0

Laptop Brand: Compaq Cq50-215CA

Can anyone help me?

I still need help, If anyone knows what the problem is and how to fix it.

Yeah, Without drivers my card wont do ANY widescreen res ;)

i can't find any achi settings in the bios.

don't think the msi kn9-sli has AHCI support?

I dont have the same board but in my bios the setting is hidden under "Advanced > Southbridge configuration" if I remember correctly. See if you have something similar.

I did spot the beta but it is AHCI only right? I didn't want to lose the ability to return to my normal settings if all failed with the snow install. Apparently there is a drop in performance on non-raid setups using AHCI.

All is working now except graphics card anyway.

Tryied both parts of this guide, but no success. Boot process always stucks at the begining.

Maybe something is wrong with my mobo (I mean for snow config)?

Biostar TA790GXB, Phenom II B25, SATA HDD and SATA ODD.

Have you got as far as installing Snow?

I had to run the installer with -force64 cpus=1

And after install I had to boot with -force64 untill I got everything set up properly.

Might be worth a shot.

Good luck

NawCom ModCD 0.3

Update:

Using above mentioned CD I have managed to install Retail on my PC.

But now the problem is how to install drivers for my VideoCard

Found some kexts, but cannot install them. Kexthelper tool crashes at startup. Any ideas? thnx

Hey everybody,

at first I wanna thank you for that guide, but I just got a problem during the install.

I boot from the BootCD, then I change the disk, it also is beginning to load the setup and at the position, where the graphical interface should come up, there is only the blue screen which is usually there just a second when the background image is loading.

What I could do, to avoid this? Are there any settings in the BIOS to change, to bring it to run?

Thats the configuration of my system:

2x2048MB Kingston ValueRam DDR3-1333 CL9 Kit

Asus M4A87TD Evo 870 AM3 ATX

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.40GHz AM3 6MB 125W Black Edition BOX

7950 GX2 (in future AMD HD 6870(will it work fine???))

i already thank you for your help.

have a nice day dudes ;)
