7- first copy amd patcher to /usr/bin

8- run terminal again

9- type this command

sudo -s
 amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/dyld /usr/lib/dyld.patched
 cp /usr/lib/dyld.patched /usr/lib/dyld
 amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib.patched
 cp /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib.patched /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

Can you please explain to me what this does and in which case I have to use it? Never done that before. I’m already asking this here.

Also the CPUID patcher from the package doesn’t cover all files or isn’t fully working in 10.6.5. (Spotlight crashes when opening private tab in its settings)

I really hope someone can help me to understand this.

There is only one real way to find out. Try it using the first method. It worked on mine quite well. Although it took a few tries. You may need to use the latest boot cd though.

Do these BootCDs in any way modify the installation or is it just a way to boot the retail DVD? I am thinking about installing vanilla on a C2D and I don’t want it to change anything on my installation. I just find it very easy to use this instead of modifying the DVD.

I'll try the first method.

The Boot CD I downloaded properly charged. I hope to have luck with the installation of SL retail.

Thanks.

simply this is the kernel guide

people whom cant deal with new kernel please do this

1- download above tools

2-you will find two files mach_kernel and amd patcher

3 run terminal

4- type rm /mach_kernel

5-copy mach_kernel on tools to mac partion

6-now patch some files

7- first copy amd patcher to /usr/bin

8- run terminal again

9- type this command

CODEsudo -s

amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/dyld /usr/lib/dyld.patched

cp /usr/lib/dyld.patched /usr/lib/dyld

amd_insn_patcher /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib.patched

cp /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib.patched /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib

now you finished patching

you need to add to boot.plist

on kernel flags

-force64

this flag important to run on 64bit

I followed those instructions and now I get a different error. :)

Hi Mohamed,

I would like install SL. I have SL DVD 10.6.0. I have three HDD with WIN7 and UBUNTU. My idea is to dedicate a HDD to SL. What is the boot loader that I will use? chamaleon or GRUB2.

What kind of setup needs to implement multiboot?

Thanks

N.

AMD Phenom x6 1090

asus m4a89gtd pro/USB3

RAM 4G

OK, if I boot with -x my graphics card doesn't go nuts. Seems the driver it chooses doesn't quite work with it. The screen goes blank and the fan seems to run at twice the normal speed.

However, I will be stuck here:

ACPI Table not found : DSDT.aml
No DSDT found, using 0 as uid value.
Using PCI-Root-UID value : 0

No error, nothing. I waited for 5 minutes and nothing more happened. I even tried with "busratio=16 arch=i386", nada. AHCI was activated.

I can't start the installation so I would have edit your boot cd, right?

use boot cd 0.6

I can't boot up the CD (latest boot 0.6) because I get a kernel panic.

I'm using Athlon II X3 445, Biostar A780L3L MB (http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/content.php?S_ID=495) with integrated graphics card, Werstern Digital 320GB SATA HDD, and SATA DVD ROM.

I took a picture of the kernel panic, dsc8827m.jpg

What can I do to get it working?

Thanks.

try use new boot cd on renewed guide

also try update bios and load default setting of bios
