The external HDD is not seen (when turned of and on ) Also when i try to boot from boot CD with external HDD on it does not work i.e the computer restarts. XoVoX Posted October 29, 2010 Share Posted October 29, 2010 After installation and update to OSX 10.6.4 don't install Chameleon RC4, install this RC5 package with the prefs panel (selectable under optional installs): http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=231075 Then install legacy_kernel. At reboot from HD use this Chameleon boot option: arch=i386 (This enables the 32bit mode!) After making all Apple bla bla on desktop open the preferences and then open Chameleon prefs. To avoid possible conflicts I disabled USB 3.0. I only managed to get to the installation program using the flags: -v -f -x busratio=16 cpus=1 I have not tried all combinations though, I would like to learn more about those options or a better set if available. I picked up the ones which appeared on this thread and added one by one. Without these flasg I get an infinite 'Still waiting for root device' series of messages still on terminal, before booting the Installation. I could not complete the installation though. I tried it, but it consistently gives me an 'Install Failed.' message at the end. I tried disabling languages and printer drivers on the installation, but that didn't help. The DVD drive and Samsung HDD is connected to Sata 4 and 5. Ive also tried connecting the Samsung disk togheter with Os x also Sata 0 and Sata 1.
