JoSe7en
Hi, I've been meaning to try your guide for a long time, so finally I've got some time. First my specs: Motherboard: Asrock 870 Extreme CPU: AMD 1055T GPU: Sapphire Radeon 5770 1Gb RAM: 4Gb Kingston Hyperx 1600mhz HDD1: Crucial C300 64Gb (for win 7) HDD2: Samsung T1 1000Gb (for data) HDD3: Seagate ... 250Gb (for snow leopard) I could write a while about what I've tried but I'm just gonna tell my problem. I've had this with many other guides I've tried before. Booting is no problem with the nawcom Bootcd. After the install I've updated the boot-file, the kernel, and some kexts, even the AtiAta kext. The Only problem is: Still waiting for root device. As you can see on the photos. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/41/p1000610y.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/813/p1000611c.jpg/ Any way to get around this? I've had this many times in the past and tried so many things but I just thought I'd ask it this time... Thanks in advance
sirbow2
the nawcom cd probably has a kext you need to boot, you could add those kexts to this installation, and it would probably fix it.
JoSe7en
I've tried that before and tried several sata kexts located in the post-installer packages but none seemed to work at the time. It sort of works when I copy the whole Extra folder from the bootCD to my Extra folder on my hard drive, but then I just can't customize things. (it has a .dmg file and such inside the extra folder). I already tried to extract the extensions.mkext file, but that doesn't give any kexts who actually work. I'll try it again with some of the packages then and see if that does anything new. I followed the tutorial exactly: booted from Chamaleon CD and selected USB 8GB with DVD installer for install Snow. Now stucked on "system uptime in nanoseconds... ". Can't understand. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Hardware config in the signature.

sirbow2
yeah or move the firewire kext out of SLE so it doesn't load. boot from the installation dvd and go in the terminal cd /Volumes/YOUR-VOLUME-NAME/System/Library/Extensions sudo mdir /Volumes/YOUR-VOLUME-NAME/bac sudo mv –R iofirewirefamily.kext /Volumes/YOUR-VOLUME-NAME/bac restart i could insert a correct firewire device into the dsdt making it not crash hopefully. try moving the kext first, ooh oops actually try this before moving the kext: at boot USBBusFix=Yes
Legends
Can't boot from the install dvd because I transferred it to USB Flash memory. Tried with USBBusFix=Yes : always kernel panic, but new error added: Only single RAM bank (128mb). I have 3GB on my PC. I think it's not Firewire because the error shown up also on Kalyway installation and never caused a problem on it.

Legends
Done, still same error: Only single RAM bank (128 megabytes). On Chamaleon (when I have to select the drive to boot) 3071mb of RAM are recognized. Strange

Legends
Done, here is what shown up: ... Safe Boot mode detected Kext __kernel__ is not loadable during safe boot... I think my PC will never run Snow. Kalyway for example runs great on my hardware (full resolution and QE/CI enabled by default) but now it's very old..
