66sprite
So I was able to get to the desktop. I had to add this flag "arch=i386 -force64". Now I am doing the 10.6.4 update. I will leave an update and let everyone know how it went Edit #1 So I ran the 10.6.4 update, it got to the end and finished and then I got a kernel panic. I am now reinstalling and trying again. Edit #2 I tried again and got the kernel panic again. Here is a picture of the kernel panic.
66sprite
I still cannot boot unless I use the arch=i386 -force64 flag and the boot cd. I have installed the newest version of chameleon and have also tried v2.0-rc5 r650 (the same as is what is on the boot cd) and it still wont boot with out the cd and the boot flag. I am also still getting the kernel panic when trying to run the 10.6.4 update (I am currently downloading the 10.6.5 update to see if that gives me the same panic) This computer is not connected to the internet. Would that have anything to do with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
66sprite
So I reinstalled and tried the 10.6.5 update but I still get a kernel panic. This time the panic comes up and the computer restarts as soon as the panic pops up on screen.

kalmdave
Hi Mohamed, That's commendable on your part that you are still entertaining question, i mean you have a personal life u can reasonably drop this responsibility, so kudos to you. Adding to your woes, i have few questions too, Am not using your method of installation yet but am done with installation. I've used iDeneb 10.6 Lite edition(Leopard 10.5.8). Problem is, I always have to login with, cpus=1 busratio=25. And guess what *am not on AHCI, * I have one SATA DVD drive, * One SATA Mac HD and * one WIN7 Enterprise which keeps asking for activation Thing is, I'd love to have 10.6.5 but for starters i just want my QE/CI done. Then I'd take it forward Here's are the specifications. http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/produc...spx?pid=3475#sp Regards. lspci.rtf
66sprite
I decided to stay at 10.6.3. If I try to go to 6.4 or 6.5 I am not able to boot into it. The only problem that I am running into now is that I am unable boot into OS X without the boot cd. I have installed the newest version of Chameleon and set busratio=16 as well as got my 9500gt working properly and installed the fakesmc kext. When I go to startup without the cd I get the chameleon screen but when I select OS X with -v it shows everything loading with a grey background but when it switches to a black background I get nothing, it just sits there with nothing but black and doesn't go any further. Any ideas?

kalmdave
try to install it and for gfx you can inject it Am familiar with tools like OSX86 and EFI String studio but what am able to inject it properly, i have tried all possible kexts of course only nvidia's but most notorious is nv inject after adding it thru EFI string and the adding it to boot.plist it gives kernel panic. Another news is that i don't have to type cpus=1 and busratio=25 before booting into ideneb 10.6 lite edition. I can Mac HD both in NATIVE IDE Mode and AHCI in my BIOS version F8. Please show me the right way to inject my gfx card= Galaxy GeForce 8400GS 512 RAM. My ethernet isn't working and can't go past 1024x768. tekm
just move mouse or remove all usb devices then connect them after pass Okay, I tried this and I'm still stuck at the screen. First I removed all usb devices, including the keyboard and mouse but left in the usb flash drive with the os x installation files. This didn't work. I then removed all usb devices including the flash drive. This also didn't do anything. I replugged everything back in at the screen moved the mouse and still nothing. Any other suggestions? Edit: So now I disabled the USB 2.0 controller, (everything is running at 1.0 speeds!), but now I think I got past the error. Thanks for pointing out that my problem is usb related. Anyway now I have a new problem where it now loads further but then the computer suddenly reboots. Ill try to look into this more. The last two messages I get before the computer automatically reboots is: "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out" and "DSMOS has arrived" Could my new error now be due to my graphics card? I'm using a Geforce GTX 470. Edit 2: Yep it was my graphics card. I'm now using my built in motherboard ATI graphics and the OS is finally installing. Installing at USB 1.0 speeds is so slow...I really hope I can manage to get USB 2.0 working again.
jeepnewbie
I'm a newb at this, but I love trying out random stuff. I even made a high powered laser pointer. This is way..... way above that know how. K here goes. I partitioned 80GB of my 500GB sata drive to see if I would be capable of putting snow leopard on my AMD desktop. I have been successful at installing the software on a external USB maxtor drive then booting up from there using the BootCD1.5 from the start of this thread. I moved the image to my 80GB partition and can boot to that also using the same method. Using the disk I can now boot into either windows or snow leopard. From this point I'm a bit lost, I am unable to get it to boot to either without the disk. I tried the second link to the bootloader but it doesn't go to the AnVAL5.0.5 it went to Chameleon 2 RC5 rev. 656 I still tried to follow the instructions but it gives me a fail. I doubled clicked on it and I just installed it, but I can't tell what it done from that point either. Any tips would be great as I'm not computer savvy, I just want to be able to say I was able to do something like this and it would help build my knowledge of OS's and how they work.
