BoostedH23a1
Ok, yet another question... I got mad and deleted everything out of my /extra folder then i opened the boot 0.5 cd and opened the "preboot.dmg" from there i copied all the contents of the "extra" folder into my /Extra then i changed my com.apple.boot.plist to this. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>rd(0,2)/Extra/mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>busratio=16 -force64 -v</string> </dict> </plist> here is my diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *1.0 TB disk0 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_HFS OSX 999.9 GB disk0s2 now when i reboot without the cd in there i get Failed to read boot sector from bios device 100h cant find 0,2 mach_kernal whats the dealo? maybe i should start over and reformat everything? *update** i changed the line from <string>rd(0,2)/Extra/mach_kernel</string> to <string>hd(0,2)/Extra/mach_kernel</string> (hd not rd) and can boot with -x (assuming this is because i have an nvidea 295 gtx and a nvidia 9800?) am i headed in the right direction? it doesnt have that nice fancy loading screen with the apple and the lizard though but it is booting without the cd now which direction should i proceed? luaduck
Hey peeps, I must be doing something wrong here I've got a copy of Snow Leopard Retail that I'm trying to install on my machine (specs over at http://luaduck.co.uk/pages.php?id=specs), but I'm not having much luck. BIOS setup is AHCI + Port 4/5 IDE (my DVD drive doesn't support AHCI booting, attempting to just throws me to the HDD boot) On the first boot CD, I just get to the middle of nowhere (freezes just after DSMOS / ethernet arrives). On BootCD 0.5, I just get stuck waiting for root device. Any ideas? (GA-MA770T-UD3P mobo if you're too lazy to click the link above)

luaduck
you can use ide mode normal try bootcd0.6 and tell me resualt and if you get any problem picture it Managed to get to boot with the first disc (ATINForce) (by using my old 7600GT), throws me a kernelpanic when I try to install though (even with one stick of RAM). BootCD0.6 just throws me into the root device loop. EDIT: Now seem to be booting using Full-IDE mode, will update EDIT2: Booted great, but can't see the HDD. Still fiddling. Do i just add the device or do i need to list every port on that card? I have a raid0 set with 2 WD hard drives with Snow leopard installing and running on that card and also have a single 1000gb for data storage. i hope i got the right info in the screen shot. i am under Storage Controllers (other posts i have been reading people are looking at the ATA and IDE tab but all mine are SATA).
