XLR
Thanks^. The thing is, that System ID change has messed up many of my system preferences and i have some software that's tied to the previous System ID. So the only way to get my previous System ID back, is to install the old Chameleon 2 RC5_pre8 with PlatformUUID.kext that i used before? Edit - thanks for the edit and links

Gringo Vermelho
MaLd0n: My guess is that the shutdown problem will solve itself if he deletes NullCPUPM and OpenHaltRestart. XLR: OpenHaltRestart is not needed anymore. Chameleon 2.0 RC5 has the same restart fix built-in. And having working vanilla CPU Power Management can help getting shut down working because "shut down" is also a CPU power state. RC5 handles that too now, as MaLd0n hinted at, read the first post to see how to set it up. It's working for me, I've put back the original Processor scope in my DSDT and set Chameleon to load my SSDT tables. See my posts earlier in this thread for more details as well. I've got Vanilla P- and C-states now, which is awesome. The thing is, that System ID change has messed up many of my system preferences and i have some software that's tied to the previous System ID. I know, this happened to me too. There's a folder somewhere full of preference files that have the UUID in their filename. I guess you could just rename all the files to have the new UUID and get your old prefs working again this way. I don't know if this will work, I just started over and deleted the prefs with the old UUID. The biggest problem with this is that if you have an iTunes Store account, it (the music you bought) will be tied to your previous UUID. I don't know if there's an easy way to get past that. There must be some tool people use when they buy a new Mac and have to migrate their iTunes account. If you're going to go through with this, I would remove the SystemID from com.apple.Boot.plist first, reboot and let your Hackintosh use the auto-generated one. To me it makes more sense, less lines in com.apple.Boot.plist, no UUIDwhatever.kext and the UUID actually comes from your motherboard, which is cool. XLR
Alright, this is the first time i managed to boot without NullCPU! But the boot process is 7 times slower than usual, the boot wheel slowed down a lot. Thou it dropped only 200 points in Geekbench but generally the system behavior has decreased drastically, everything moves veeery slow now... I removed the unnecessary stuff from boot.plist but couldn't get my head around the Shutdown Fix yet, i'm not entirely sure where to put it in my DSDT. Gringo Vermelho
That looks like an unmodified DSDT? Post LSPCI-nn output too. Run console, look in kernel.log. XLR
Gringo, It is unmodified actually, i've applied something to it via DSDTSE to fix a couple of compilation errors, and that's it. Unfortunately i don't speak ACPI language so i can't understand what's going on in my DSDT.... blackosx
now we only need some from voodoo team add this file to the resources.. Final full translated Portuguese Hi Fabio / oldnapalm I've added the portuguese translation to the trunk.
rednous
@iFabio, blackosx and others Guys I could localize Chameleon in bulgarian Please tell me where to get the docs and any other specific info is appreciated. Thanx.
blackosx
Hi rednous You can see all the current language translations in the trunk here. To download all of those for example, do the following: In terminal, cd to any local folder you want to add the resources in to, i.e. your desktop, then type svn co -r HEAD http://forge.voodooprojects.org/svn/chameleon/trunk/package/Resources you will now have a folder named 'Resources' containing all the language translations so far. If you want to create yourself a new local folder named Bulgarian, fill it with translated files and post it here then I will be happy to add it to the trunk. mitch_de
Problem with chameleon (newer pkg) booting on second HD ddnt work anymore. I must boot from first HD and then select the WIN7 or OS X Partition to boot . If i press F12 (BIOS) and select the second HD boot fails complete. (that worked before i reformated/reinstalled Win7/OSX/chameleon the HD2). Because off topic i made an thread in Multi-booting and Virtualisation : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=230713
rednous
currently use the compiled DSDT Editor but I get error in two lines of code. 425 Error Length is larger than Min/Max Window 2632 Warning Possible operator timeout is ignored another question. I installed NullCPUPowerManagement and CPU temperature increases of 4-5 degrees if you delete this kext GenerateCStates option is selected and works perfectly Why is this happening? Intel DX58SO MotherBoard Intel Core i7 920 GTX 260 someone could help me? thanks for your time... ... Here's the fix by mitch_de for Length is larger than Min/Max Window error. And for line 2632 Warning... I wouldn't worry as far as the DSDT compiles error free. Sometimes warnings could be ignored, but would be good if you could fix it with someone's else help. I'm afraid I can't be of help with this warning That is how should look like the part of your DSDT where you got Error at line 425: QWordMemory (ResourceProducer, PosDecode, MinFixed, MaxFixed, NonCacheable, ReadWrite, 0x0000000000000000, // Granularity 0x0000000000000000, // Range Minimum 0x0000000000000000, // Range Maximum 0x0000000000000000, // Translation Offset 0x0000000000000001, // Length ,, , AddressRangeMemory, TypeStatic) NOTE: Don't copy and paste from the above box cause you might get hidden symbols in your DSDT preventing error free compilation. I would remove NullCPUPowerManagement.kext cause when (if) you update OS X to 10.6.X you'll get a Kernel Panic on the next OS X start unless you remove this kext before updating to a newer OS X build. P-States generation for newer motherboards with Core ix processors is not supported. Most of newer motherboards export all necessary info via SSDT for native SpeedStep support in Mac OS X. rednous
iRipper, NullCPUPowerManagment.kext is needless in your case -- as you said you're running with the latest Chameleon RC5, and the P & C states are generated successfully.
