Um I think I'm using Galago, not actually sure yet. There was one other fb I used which caused standby screen and somehow I got it working again using safe mode or changing the boot res. Now it doesn't work anymore. ):

This isn't my first time getting blank screen, but I've only fixed by re-installing. LOL!

Ouch. I have a dongle, using that and trying every combination. I think I've tried VGA by it'self, but I shall try t again.

I do need Netkas' help. Haha.

fix is easy:

 

boot -s

 

mount -uw /

cd /System/Library/Extensions/

mv ATIRadeonX3000.kext ../

mv ATI5000Controller.kext ../

reboot

 

the best way to test - create many aty_init.kext versions with all mentioned framebuffers, and just try them one by one.

How do I tell when an FB is working? ATM I'm using a monitor connected via VGA and using UAKARI FB, getting full resolution, meaning in the display option in the System Preferences has resolutions up to like 1900 or w/e. Can't remember.

UPDATE:

 

I have tested all the FB's that were mentioned in this thread, and by using OpenGL Extensions Viewer, and testing, none of them seem to get frames above 25 (average) when testing. So... What now? Am I doing anything wrong?

framebuffer and fps in ogl viewer is two absolutely different thing, not connected anyhow

 

 

working framebuffer is a working resulution change.

 

 

for opengl you need to install atiradeonx3000.kext and its bundles

Oh I get it noow. Thank you! I shall try resolution changes first then. :D

 

So um, Uakari at the moment is supporting my res change from 800x600 to 1024x768. I can't use any other resolution changes as my monitor is quite small. (15")

So yeah.

I shall go test some more framebuffers if changing from 800x600 to 1024x768 is sufficient to be called "working" Haha.

 

EDIT: But I do have other resolutions which I'm sure will work. When I click them, my monitor shows it doesn't support it. (duh).

It means i need delete the ati5000controller.kext and use the other kexts and ati_int.kext will be let my HD5670 1gb DDR5 work?

 

My card is ASUS HD5670 1GB DDR5 device id is same as yours, but after i put the kexts and use terminal as follows:

 

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions

diskutil repairpermissions /

 

after reboot the computer, everything is no change.. why?Display:

You need everything that he uploaded. So, ATY_Init, and all the drivers. Try using "kext helper b7" to install your kexts. Then repair permissions in diskutil.

 

Is it kexts as follows? just drag them into kexthelper b7?

Use only ati5000controler.kext,atiframebuffer.kext, atisupport.kext Ati_init.kext, i will try.

 

 

My hackintoshi is AMD processer and 785g+sb750 chipset., use all kexts with kexthelper b7, after "it looks be fine, cross fingers and reboot" 6 seconds, i got screen panic.... no time to fix permissions.

If use all kext and repair disk permission ----> restart

 

connet dvi cable boot black screen

connet vga cable boot white screen

 

If del ATIRadeonX3000.kext

 

Remaining files = ATI5000Controller.kext, ATIFramebuffer.kext, ATIRadeonX3000GA.plugin, ATIRadeonX3000GLDriver.bundle, ATIRadeonX3000VADriver.bundle, ATISupport.kext, Ati_init.kext

 

install and repair disk permission ----> restart

 

boot very long time and i laziness wait :)

As the reason for panic, could you send your kexts which are working by email to kaf@live.cn? After kext helper, fullscreen will show panic...no time to repair permission. i think our cards be the same.

I used all text from netkas, just first step use except x3000.kext, all kexts be installed by kext ulity.

Try to delete your realtek ethernet kext.
