rodaldorga
I have been following this guide : http://osx86.net/archive/index.php/t-4103.html I managed to get my leopard working, but I am having some troubles when I move on to SL. I boot from my external, and everything goes fine until it gets to about "dsmos has arrived", and my screen goes into power saving mode. I've tried looking for a way to fix this, but haven't been successful. I know this is probably something stupid on my end, but I can't figure out what it is that I screwed up on. My specs: Motherboard: Asus P5N-D CPU: Core 2 Duo E8500 RAM: 4gb DDR2 Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce GTX 280 Thanks in advance to anyone that helps me out. rodaldorga
Thanks for trying to help, but I couldn't find anything that really solved my problem in your guide. It's entirely possible I missed something, it's pretty big. I gave up on trying to follow the p5n-d guide, and tried to follow yours step by step. I'm still stuck at the same place, my monitor shuts off after the loading screen/ dsmos has arrived. If anyone could help me solve this, it would be much appreciated. I've tried searching and trying everything I could think of, but it hasn't really been working out for me. Have you checked your BIOS settings against the template for OS X for the 750i chipset........see links in post #1 2. Have you tried switching your display connector to the other port on your graphics card.......? 3. Are you trying the USB method or nForceSLBoot132DVD or OSInstal.mpkg mehod to install SL......? 4. How are you trying to set up your video card driver? How are you trying to set up your video card driver? Yes, I have checked the settings. Everything seems to match up. I have tried that switching the connector, that didn't help. I'm using the usb method, installing onto mbr. As for the last point, I put the GraphicsEnabler option in the plist. Do not try to enable your graphics card by using GraphicsEnabler option in com.apple.Boot.plist of the USB installer /E/E/............see if you can run in basic VESA mode.......what happens when you boot with -v -x? rodaldorga
Seems it was just a small stupid fix. I was messing around and decided to try the EFI string, and it solved my problem. Sorry to have wasted you time and all on something so trivial. Seems all I have left to do is to get sound and internet working.
