Then there were none.
Well as you all know there is 2 types of macbooks, the 1.83ghz core duo, and the 2.0ghz core duo. my question is, with 2gb ram, or even just at base specs, will it make that much of a difference? what would be the best to go for? munky
bear in mind the other difference for the money is that you get a dual layer DVD burner with the 2Ghz, whereas you 'only' get a combo drive (dvd reader / cd burner) with the 1.
sandmanfvrga
IF I was going to get a MB I would get the 2ghz for the superdrive. What irritates me is now Apple is making you go up in price to get some things like superdrives. *sigh* Oh well, I don't buy them so oh well. paulmoscow
I think a DVD writer model in Macbooks can burn only single-layer discs. Here's its specification from apple.com: Slot-loading SuperDrive with double-layer read support
munky
paulmoscow: you appear to be correct.

jonajona
There should be no questions asked.... 2.0 is the way to go. Unless you're really on a tight budget... But, trust me, you will need the DVD burner.
drrty byl
Maybe throw down a little more cash for a mbp for a tighter case and a bigger screen? Or go to Fry's and get a Great Quality laptop with a pentium D for $500 and install osx?
matty429
the 17 inch macbook pro will burn dual layer...that's the only one.
