^^ also my interest ...

Thanks for the dump.

@Kyle_C

Thanks 4 your first post. It would be great, if u could tell us, which hex edits u did.

I believe you are right. Sandy Bridge seems to be closer to GMA 5700 as I believed.

IOReg from MacBook 8,1 tells me, that it is also Gen575 also it loads AppleIntelHDGraphicsGA.plugin.

Thought SB is quiet different ...

Ho damn! Does that mean you have native rez? Also, how'd you get that far? I've got a decent amount of experience with Hackintosh's (I've build 3 stable ones now) but never on a laptop.

Speaking of which, how do you at least get it to a stable build point? What updates or mods did you use?

no native rez :) . but translucent bar and the graphics efects.

i was nawcom + retail and update to 10.6.7 ##### before reboot and i remove all ati and nvidea kexts. and put the 3000hd kexts to s/l/e.

as i say before, if i let the ga and the fb kexts in s/l/e the system dont crash, but the screen goes nuts, but is there.

tests please

88a99065689c95c6a174563abab6d0cd.jpeg admit that this error is due to improper injection

But actually my SNB hack (ga-h67ma-ud2h-b3) has this AGPMEnabler entry in ioregistry and still onboard graphics do not work.

See, I keep getting KP`s during the OS X combo update, but I`m using custom ##### for the Intel HD issues and a retail disc. How`d you get the update installed? I KP before the update even finishes then I just get boot loops from there out.

i install the retail 10.6.3 via nawcom. then i run ##### for the extra contents, as bootloader and extra and sound.... then i install the legacy 10.7 kernel, and then i run the combo 10.6.7 and before i reboot, i remove all the graphics kexts[nvidea and ati] from s/l/e. thats it.

Kyle_C is right ...

The SNB driver are verry verry close to standard HD.

Today I did some patching I Updated to MacBookProEarly2011 Update

and inserted some the DV2 SNB kexts. with edited info. plist. I have a great very great effect.

First ... THEY ARE LOADED !!

I get these Screen while booting:

1f19d3a32c8b16020fe4b74242a2e315.jpg

And ScreenSharing Works:

994e7c0204ddbcd733b0169323b12162.png

Resolution is wrong!!! I had these before, with the first standard Intel HD Drivers from 10.6.4 later with 10.6.7 this disappeared. I belive, that the EDID is not picked up, and so the SFB does not know how to talk with the monitor.

Later I ll try Kyle_C bootfile. btw. Kyle_C is it possible, that u also add a patch for Standart Intel HD to the bootloader?

Now we also really need to know, what hex changed you did. ...

great I tried external monitor and now i get KP really great no do not want to make a reinstall ...

Very nice XmodD ;) . So the Sandy Bridge Intel HD Graphics kexts works on our old Arrandale Intel HD Graphics? If yes, then thats great. No need for the old kexts anymore.

I can see that your screen shows the apple boot logo but disappears once all the kexts are loaded. Again it seems that something is causing it to not detect the LCD display.

EDIT: I changed my SMBIOS to Macbook Pro 8,1 so I can install the Early Macbook pro update but I can't. It won't let me. Is it because I updated to 10.6.7 already?

I did IOreg Dump. as u can see attached.

It only loads GFX0 device . ... And that is wrong. As u can see in the IOreg from original MBP 8,1 it is called IGPU. I believe, i can change that by patching / renaming in DSDT. ... I ll go on later. now I am in trouble with these KP ... ggrr ...

maybe i need a new kernel ... i used an old one from standard leopard. if someone knowes a good patched kernel, so please upload it ...

here is the fix 4 the installation by TonyMacOSx

Here's how to do it! Fixed the blog post:

How To Use (Experimental)

1. Begin with 10.6.6

2. Install MacBook Pro System Definition from #####

3. Open Finder and Navigate to /Extra/smbios.plist

4. Open in TextEdit

5. Change MacBookPro6,1 to MacBookPro8,1

6. Save and Reboot

7. Open /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

8. Drag SystemVersion.plist to Desktop

9. Open with TextEdit

10. Change ProductBuildVersion to 10J3210

11. Save and move back to /System/Library/CoreServices/

12. Install Mac OS X 10.6.7 Update for 2011 MacBook Pro

http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=15708

btw here my files;

http://rapidshare.com/files/456973233/goodnews.zip

Now I will do some DSDT renaming ...

Here a short guide, what to do maybe someone else wants to go on. 4 today i am done is late in germany ...

1.) install snow to 10..6.6 or 10.6.7 Standard

2.) do tonys fix as above

3.) update to early2011

4.) delete all graphic drivers (not the intel ones)

5.) delete intelHDFB.kext

6.) Install my kext

You have to play a bit around. Now I placed standart IntelHD again and it seems, that he is loading the display (running -v no sreen sharing) it is seeking 4 GraphicControl (also deleted it ll place it later again) Also there seems that he does not finde some vars from the backlight control

Thanks for the help XmodD. I ran the Early MacBook Pro 2011 update successfully and it seems to have installed fine. However once I restarted and tried to boot this happened:

post-620531-1302561803_thumb.jpg

Yup, just another day in the hackintosh world :) . It justs stays there. But I believe the reason is because I already had 10.6.7 installed and then I spoofed SystemVersion.plist into thinking it was 10.6.6. Any suggestions? I tried busratio=17 and -x but doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm guessing I'm gonna have to reinstall Mac OS X Snow Leopard if there's nothing I can do. :(

It would be great if someone else tries Xmod's idea in the meantime.

i run the mbp update from 10.6.7. But try from 10.6.6

do u have a DSDT? do u run a mod. kernel? seems that there is something wrong with your ACPI config.

I run FakeSMC, cause I had ACPI errors before.

OK right now I am at university and genetic class is really boring ... So i went across my IOreg dumps .... And I believe I figured the problem out.

IntelHD.kext ist not loaded !!! This is why Backlight Control, resolution recognizing etc. is not working.

Now I made some changes in the info.plist.

In about 4 h I ll try it out. Also i found about 20 pages before these ...

Hello,

I'm also working with a Dell 6510 core i7 Intel HD.

I'm using Melkoort svn and injection and modified Dsdt with IGPU,GMUX... and so on

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL,ndrv-dev", reg_TRUE, 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "display-connect-flags", GMA5700_vals[0], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T1",GMA5700_vals[2], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T2",GMA5700_vals[3], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T3",GMA5700_vals[4], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T4",GMA5700_vals[5], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T5",GMA5700_vals[6], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T6",GMA5700_vals[7], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL00,T7",GMA5700_vals[8], 4);

devprop_add_value(device, "AAPL,os-info",os_info, 20);

devprop_add_value(device, "hda-gfx","onboard-1\0", 10);

Still the same trouble no screen except with vnc and can see all mode in screen selector up to 1920x1080.

No display detected.

I've work with the dump ioregistry of thirst post.

But the dump was made with nvidia enable. ( look in ioregistry AAPL,ndrv-dev is true for nvidia GFX0)

Should be very good for us to get the same with intel hd enable.

Fred

I believe, I can use it, to inject missing vales ... Like yourick did for his sandy bridge fixed bootloader ...

Using yourics bootfile gives me unknown GPU :(

ll report later

Bro do you realise that QE/CI is not enabled when this SNB kext is used? do check on the status bar.. It is not in halfly transparent.. Do u think that QE/CI is enabled?

Well I tried to update my Laptop to the Early MacBook Pro 2011 update but again nothing. :) I get stuck in a part where it says "PCI Configuration Begin". Don't know what that means. Even people with Sandy Bridge processors get the same error.

Do we really need this update? I mean can't you just get the kexts and load them up in the regular 10.6.7 update?

I am not sure, I believe you have to try it out. the MBP update contains a new kernel. 10.7.3.

You can use to try standard 10.6.7 with my kexts but use a 8,1 SMBios. Maybe if there is time tomorrow I ll go on with testing ... I ll also try my kext on standard 10.6.7.

Also I want to try the non Dev2 SNBFB Kext with new IDs.

I hope, that the guys from tonymac86 ll open up angain the SandyBridge Forum. Also I believe in the end, when they have full working solution, there will also be a solution for us. ...
