coda when u force it into 1200x800 .... do u have the option in system preferences>display?

i quite dont get why im unable to achieve anything but1024x768 and others are ....

from what uve posted im pretty much there with u...

differences ive had were i was running 64bit and your vadriver.bundle boot dual gpu>true was false for me..... goin 32bit and placing dbootgpu to true didnt do anything

i also changed the identifier to macbookpro6,1 hoping that would help since mine was set to macpro......

i didnt force anything, although i have set 1600x900 in *.boot.plist. In system preferences there are no options to change the resolution.

I re-enabled the *vadriver.bundle and left the *fb.kext disabled and it still boots to 1280x800. I have a problem at the moment though, i changed something and now the machine wont boot at all. Boot with -v just shows a hang after loading /system/library/coreservices/<someplist>.plist right at the beginning. Sigh.

Why not make it a competition to write a driver with a prize? With all the budget notebooks with just Intel HD graphics out there (like the i5 Fujitsu lifebook) I would contribute $15.00 to the prize. What do you all think?

Exactly, don't the Haiku folks use a "bounty" to get a few

necessary things done?

Look at dutchhockeypro's threads they are the most informative and the most systematic. Looking for Intel HD support just to come out is probably a very low probability event.

Maybe one of the debian driver devs will port it and we will all celebrate!

Oh agreed completely, need to see it done first, but it's still what some need to start work ;)

Has someone tried with AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext? The newest MacBook has only Intel HD as GFX.

ID's supported in custom AppleIntelHDGraphics 10.6.6:

seems like nobody was able to get anything done. although now we get the kexts to load. it's so sad that none of the experts are joining to fix the intelHD, oh and don't keep ur hopes up for mac lion cus it will give u the same results. just like the other intel kexts that needed a natit to work this one needs a natit too. i hope someone with some knowledge pays some attention to this.

question what is natit

its a graphics injector that suppose to help you get to native resolution.

It does not help me one bit.

To update on my status,

after spending a whole lot of time on this, im finally giving up. My little knowledge simply cant get me to where id like to be, which ultimately is just native resolution .....

What puzzles me the most is the fact that some folks are at least able to get over the 1024x768 res. Some even say that simple graphics mode string got them the native resolution.

Native resolution with graphics mode string?? I do not think so, but I with chameleon can set the resolution 1280x1024 (native 1376x768)

That's interesting because my ID (bolded) is there but doesn't work.

00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Arrandale DRAM Controller [8086:0044] (rev 02) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Arrandale Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0046] (rev 02)

My native resolutions works in all 10.6.* versions with i5-540m (Arrandale) with Integrated Intel HD graphics (no discrete card).

However, the OSX desktop never loads with the new AppleIntelHD* kexts. If I remove them, it works and 10.6.7 boots fine. No QE/CI accelerated graphics though ;)

Also willing to donate to someone who can figure this out!

DSDT and setting the resolution in boot.plist. Though I think it worked even before I had the DSDT made. Without the setting in boot.plist , it was the default 1024x768 that was horribly stretched on my laptop.
