Saieno Posted June 18, 2010 Share Posted June 18, 2010 So I've followed numerous tutorials, tried Hazard's DVD, and tried Marvin's AMD Utility, however I cannot get Hazard's DVD nor Marvin's AMD Utility to run. The tutorials I have tried are: [AMD] Installing Snow Leopard 10A432 on AMD System by arya (Guide) How To Install Snow Leopard Retail On AMD PC OsX86 by HardKnox and How To: Snow Leopard on PC AMD by TeknoJunkie However, none have come close to producing a bootable Snow Leopard except for HardKnox's guide. Currently I'm running iATKOS v7 10.5.7 Leopard, which is fine except many things require 10.5.8 Leopard, so I'd rather just get to Snow Leopard since I'd have to update anyway. My system specs are as follows: Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz Memory: 4096MB RAM Hard Drive: 1 TB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Motherboard: ASUS M2N68-AM SE2 Right now I have Snow Leopard installed on my second harddrive, have tried the three tutorials above, and as far as Marvin's AMD Utility it just freezes up my entire computer. When I boot into Snow Leopard (Keep in mind I've tried -v, -f, -F, maxmem=2048, busratio=20, cpus=1, and cpus=2 boot flags) I get a kernel panic as seen below. I followed all the steps in HardKnox's guide, and it actually produced a kernel panic instead of just a black screen like the other two. I have not installed any extra kexts, but I did install the BSD package from the install DVD, as I saw it mentioned in the kernel panic the first time. I would really like to get this running, so any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks. I've tried a bunch of different Kernels, I've tried different kexts, I've tried getting the Marvin Utility running but it still just locks up my system. I don't know what to do and I would really like to be in Snow Leopard......anyone? Goroner Posted June 26, 2010 Share Posted June 26, 2010 ive got the same error i gotta say i tried with the busratio i told you aint working for me i tought it would work for you tough but isnt working , come on someone thant knows what should we do help,my specs are: mb: asus m4a78td-v evo cpu : phenom x4 965 black edition vga: ati hd 4850 4gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz hdd 500gb ive read somewhere that i need to remove extra ram and leave it just like 2gigs or some less during instalation and than i can back it up after install is done, if this is true someone confirm it please! , thanks! Saieno try removing one of your Ram modules so leave it just with 2gb and try booting the dvd up if you succed please feed back to me i have the same prob, and i read somewhere about removing on of the ram sticks for those who have 4gigs or more...
