take your time B) I am in no rush for anything i know you are busy and working hard for all of us. Besides i know that life goes on besides this stuff :D I am just trying to test and help anyhow :) I check back regularly.

Hey JanieRox,

Don't know if you saw that I sent you a PM with a link to a new Install CD to try. :)

I'm just completely lost. I've done everything I could think of to get this working but still can not. Beginning to wonder if it's just not possible on my laptop.

Are the results the same? Does the new CD act exactly like the other? It has to work on your machine, maybe it's a Chameleon issue. Don't give up, there are some other things we can try, but it has to work on your machine and I'm sure we will figure it out.

Yes it's exactly the same. Chameleon loads, I swap discs and refresh, then when I try to install it's starts the strings of processes and always ends the same...

ACPI table not found x2

FADT: Restart Fix applied! x2

I want to help as I can, it's not much I can do though lol. A friend of mine said it could be that when i change my bios i can not change between SATA and AHCI mode. I don't know.

Did you try:

cpus=1 busratio=17 (as per http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43537&code=430m). Also try -f if that doesn't work.

If all else fails, you can try booting with the voodoo kernel.

tried cpus, busratio, and -f. none went through it was the same in the end restart. voodoo kernel?

Sorry, I meant -x, is that right? Also I think the voodoo kernel might be on the CD. If it's possible put it on the cd your booting and type "voodoo_kernel". Mammoth may have removed the voodoo kernel though, not sure. What version of OS X are you using / installing from?

Well -x i've done as well. As for the voodoo kernel and everything else I'm not sure. As of the moment I am trying to beta test for Mammoth. I am trying to get os x to install. I am using 10.6.3 10D575 to try to install but can't seem to get it to the install process.

if you try this boot cd: http://prasys.info/2010/07/empireefi-1-085...-10-6-3-is-out/ , using always the same parameters, can you reach the installation?

if yes, then we should discover what magic Prasys used :D

Hey everyone, especially JannieRox, I'm working on several issues and trying to get the base set of files solidified. There have been so many changes and advances that it is difficult to come up with the best combination. So hang in there while I try to sort all of this out.

@NIXin

Can you please check out this thread and see how it might pertain to how we are doing DSDT and SSDT? This also might have something to do with the memory error we see in System Profiler:

This is all fine, the way we are doing DSDT and SSDT is correct and everything there is, is already implemented in the DSDT patch and GeneratePStates and CStates in Chameleon / AnVAL, at least for the i7 processor in our HP's.

Someone has to create the SSDT fix in DSDT for i5's and other processors.

Hi NIXin,

With the newest Chameleon, it looks like there is no need to enter SSDT info in DSDT for any ix CPUs, if I understand correctly. Try this:

DropSSDT=Yes

GeneratePStates=Yes

GenerateCStates=Yes

I tried this on my machine (with latest Chameleon RC5) and it does work! If this will also work for i3 and i5 CPUs, this will solve a big problem and make DSDT generation much easier. Please let me know if I am wrong or do not understand something.

Thanks!

First BETA "Mammoth DVx Install CD" is available for testing! Please read the following if interested in being a BETA tester.

DO NOT PM (send Personal Messages) to me (Mammoth)!

There is no reason to ask to be a BETA tester by sending me a PM. The PM system on InsanelyMac is terribly limited and small and forces one to constantly have to delete messages. Post your request IN THE THREAD or you will NOT be answered. PM requests to BETA test WILL be deleted and not replied to. If you post in the thread, then you WILL be answered and I will send you ONE PM with a link to the BETA. All of our interaction will be in the thread and NOT via PM. Thanks.

If you are not a member of InsanelyMac, then join. There is no reason not to as it's free.

I will only be making available to select people with current i3, i5, and i7 series HP DVx machines. I do have a Core2 Duo DV5 build for testing also, but testing for any other machines will come later.

Only those who have generated proper machine specific DSDTs either with NIXin's help or by successfully using the patcher with his scripts, will qualify for this first round testing. (Look around Page 40 for info on that).

There are NO guides involved in this first BETA test, and NONE of the files (if found in the CDs Installation directory), have been updated (they are ALL the same files found on the v1.15 Update CD), so DO NOT attempt to complete an installation using them. This directory WILL be fully updated for the final release.

This BETA test is only to see if we can successfully boot and start the OS X installer on machines which were unable to with previous releases. It is designed to try to make as many machines supportable as possible.

You will need a clean, INTERNALLY INSTALLED hard drive in order to participate in this BETA and for your results to be any help to this project.

If you meet all of the above requirements and would like to participate and receive the BETA for testing, please post so (but DO NOT PM me! Post in the thread.) and provide:

- Your InsanelyMac user ID

- Your complete HP Pavilion DVx machine model number (so I can look it up on HP's site if needed)

- Which CPU you have (i3, i5, or i7) [i PRIMARILY NEED i3 AND i5 TESTERS AT THIS TIME]

- "YES", that you will be able to install to a hard drive (as outlined above)

- Which GPU you have (nVidia or ATI, and model number) having either one is still fine for this test

- And post your DSDT that was created with NIXin's help [Let's NOT overload him with requests however please].

Even if you have previously provided this information elsewhere, please provide it again so it's all in one place, and I don't have to waste time searching for it.

Hi Mammoth

Great to hear this, i can spend some time testing right now :D

i want to know if the new kexts are included !!!

- yehia Amer

- HP Pavilion dv6-2170ee

- i7

- YES

- nVidia GT 230M

- dsdt.zip

thanks mammoth for your time and effort :blowup:

Great, thanks Yehia Amer,

Yes, new kexts will be included, but I'm waiting on others to help with other questions and issues pertaining to Chameleon, FakeSMC, VBIOS, etc, etc, so give me some time.

Thanks!

Hi Mammoth

- Taptun

- HP Pavilion dv6-2090er

- i7

- YES

- nVidia GT 230M

-

Thanks Taptun :)

Awesome Taptun,

Like I said to Yehia Amer, I just need some time to sort out some more issues before the next BETA can be given to everyone. It will be an updated version to the one previously available.

If anyone is really good with creating audio (AppleHDA.kext, etc.), or can hook us up with someone who is, that would be great because I want an updated 10.6.6 version for us. Kizwan has been our source for this in the past, but it looks like he is off the grid at the moment. ;)
