FKA
Hi I've just started booting the LP64 kernel .. I had a few initial problems - mainly revolving around KP on restart/shutdown due to NTFS-3g and MacFuse. I was using Tomas Carnecky's 64 bit comp of 2.1.7 - Currently trying Paragon NTFS 8.0 Anywho, this appears to be purely cosmetic but I have the following kexts not loading: 09/05/2010 19:25:30 com.apple.kextd[10] Can't load /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/InternalModemSupport.kext - no code for running kernel's architecture. 09/05/2010 19:25:30 com.apple.kextd[10] Failed to load /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/InternalModemSupport.kext - (libkern/kext) requested architecture/executable not found. 09/05/2010 19:25:30 com.apple.kextd[10] Load com.apple.driver.InternalModemSupport failed; removing personalities. 09/05/2010 19:25:29 com.apple.kextd[10] Can't load /System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext - no code for running kernel's architecture. 09/05/2010 19:25:29 com.apple.kextd[10] Failed to load /System/Library/Extensions/CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext - (libkern/kext) requested architecture/executable not found. 09/05/2010 19:25:29 com.apple.kextd[10] Load com.deepseasoftware.driver.CDSDAudioCaptureSupport failed; removing personalities. Re. the internalModemSupport.kext - I have disables COM and LPT ports in bios and have also tried removing these devices from DSDT - But still no joy .. Re. CDSDAudioCaptureSupport.kext - I have absolutely NO IDEA !! As I said this seems to be purely cosmetic but I'd like to get to the bottom of this ... anyone have any ideas ?? Cheers D. Have seen some people around fixing strange issues that way, never had to though. Greetz This is on hold ATM .. I'm still getting the occational KP on shutdown and restart and need to track that down first - I'm presuming here the KP and unloaded kexts aren't related. Havent done a fresh install since SL was released, so may try that on a spare HDD an see how that goes. D
Superhai
As I said this seems to be purely cosmetic but I'd like to get to the bottom of this ... anyone have any ideas ?? It states in fairly clear text "requested architecture/executable not found". Simply they doesn't contain your architecture, they are only compiled for i386, not x86_64. You could remove the personalities, or delete the entire kext if it bothers you.

I was playing with the video bios dumper of Dong, on sl x64 though. and it showed out same message when I tried to load an i386 only kext Warnings: Executable does not contain code for architecture: x86_64 Can't load RadeonPCI.kext - no code for running kernel's architecture. FKA
You can do that in a few clicks with 'Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner'. been using it for a few weeks now, very hand tool, just a shame applejack 1.5.1 hasn't made it yet ! .. still no joy ... I can see a CPU related message when it KP's in verbose but the message isn't logging to file anywhere ... Will dig my camera out for when she next pops! D. FKA
Sorted !! It was one of two things:- I use SMARTReporter and it loads default 32bit - right clip app > get info > uncheck 'load in 32 bit mode' OR - I hadn't previously run the 'Maintenance' option in 'Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner' One of these has fixed the KP! Unfortunatly I did both at the same time so not sure which was the fix .. Sorry D

FKA
No quite so easy ... The shutdown restart KP has gone. However I've had 2 KP's relating to firefox.bn I've been running 3.6.3 32 bit (Am about to try 3.7 beta 64bit.). Will let you know how the 3.7 beta goes but has anybody else booting LP64 had problems with Firefox 3.6 ?? Cheers D.
FKA
It aint firefox .. Ok I've had 4 KP's during normal operation, all relating to different processes: And one for firefox.bn that i didn't take a snap of .. Really stumped .... last ditch (well second to last as last ditch is a reinstall in case I've royally screwed something up.) is to try without paragon NTFS ... but noone has reported LP64 issues with the latest paragon build !!! ??? Virus ?? Arrrgh .... I love it ... ! ... i think
FKA
Still struggling with random KP on shutdown and during normal operation. Am currently testing with a fresh bare-bones install on single HDD with minimal DSDT edits. Posting this more as a memo to myself: Suspect RAM issue, System Profiler > Diagnostics reports failed test, RAM error. KP seems to corrolate with RAM hungry processes. mds for example. Can garantee a KP when using Crabon Cloner to backup to internal HDD so will test by running this process. (Again the KP is relating to differant processes each time. NOT CCCloner.) ToDo - Run Rember check for errors - remove OC jumpers and test un clocked. - check RAM timing - currently set manually to RAM spec 4, 4, 4, 12 - maybe try 'auto' - test with just one 2GB stick - alternate RAM sticks removed. And sticks in A then B channel - test with spare 500MB 667 stick. - Phone a friend - Use get out of jail free card ! D
FKA
OK - doesn't matter what i try RAM wise I still get the KP's. Don't ever complete REMBER test In fact memtest.exe shows no errors unclocked or with my original BIOS settings. I already knew this!!! Currently only hvae fakeSMC.kext in E/E. now using 2.5 rev93 edited for iMac9,1 (thanks Beerkext'd + slice, netkas et al.) but had same issue with iMac10,1 and faceSMC 2.5 from netkas blog . Attached Rember log, DSDT, boot.plist and smbios ... as ever, any help appreciated log from restart to crash to restart running rember 31/05/2010 22:49:07 SMARTReporter[247] Error: GetMACAddress returned 0x00000005 31/05/2010 22:49:07 SMARTReporter[247] Drive: 'SAMSUNG HD322HJ ( | S17AJ90S110087 | disk2)' Status: SMARTOK (S.M.A.R.T. condition not exceeded, drive OK) 31/05/2010 22:49:08 SMARTReporter[247] Drive: 'SAMSUNG HD321KJ ( | S0MQJDWQ182486 | disk1)' Status: SMARTOK (S.M.A.R.T. condition not exceeded, drive OK) 31/05/2010 22:49:08 SMARTReporter[247] Drive: 'Hitachi HDT725025VLA380 (Windows7 Boot, Windows7 x64 | VFL101R6CL2RHT | disk0)' Status: SMARTOK (S.M.A.R.T. condition not exceeded, drive OK) 31/05/2010 22:49:08 SMARTReporter[247] Drive: 'ExcelStor Technology J9250S (OS X Backup | GEK230T2ABW51B | disk4)' Status: SMARTOK (S.M.A.R.T. condition not exceeded, drive OK) 31/05/2010 22:49:08 SMARTReporter[247] Drive: 'SAMSUNG HD103UJ (Music, Pictures, Video | S13PJDWS256292 | disk3)' Status: SMARTOK (S.M.A.R.T. condition not exceeded, drive OK) 31/05/2010 22:49:44 WindowServer[197] kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged. 31/05/2010 22:49:44 com.apple.WindowServer[197] Mon May 31 22:49:44 Daves-iMac.local WindowServer[197] : kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint @ CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are logged. 31/05/2010 22:49:45 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[115] (com.apple.AirPortBaseStationAgent[241]) Exited: Killed 31/05/2010 22:49:45 loginwindow[196] DEAD_PROCESS: 196 console 31/05/2010 22:49:45 com.apple.kextd[10] Error reconsidering volume /Volumes/Windows7 Boot. 31/05/2010 22:49:45 shutdown[254] reboot by Dave: 31/05/2010 22:49:45 shutdown[254] SHUTDOWN_TIME: 1275342585 351328 31/05/2010 22:49:45 com.apple.SecurityServer[58] Session 0x402d81 dead 31/05/2010 22:49:45 com.apple.SecurityServer[58] Killing auth hosts 31/05/2010 22:49:45 com.apple.SecurityServer[58] Session 0x402d81 destroyed 31/05/2010 22:49:45 DirectoryService[15] BUG in libdispatch: 10D578 - 1960 - 0x10004004 31/05/2010 22:49:45 mDNSResponder[62] mDNSResponder mDNSResponder-214.3 (Feb 11 2010 04:49:16) stopping 31/05/2010 22:49:45 WindowServer[197] hidd died. FKA
Just spotted a glaring error in my DSDT HPET - 4 IRQs ... that was a test i forgot to remove ... hmmm Start the tests again ... @Alessandro17 - re: Im Fed up .. This is the biggest pile of sh!te i've wriiten here ... unless you want to leave this as an example of what not to do - once I'm sorted (hopefully by this evening.) please feel free to delete this thread !! FKA
Don't delete! I want to see a happy ending to this LOL - not such a happy ending ... Having the 2 extra IRQNoFlags in HPET through up some very odd errors - i.e. removing 1, 2 GB RAM stick gave a sound assertion error and audio stopped working .. very odd but not so surprising. If anybody comes across a USB fix that suggests adding 2 extra IRQNoFlags to HPET - dont do it, its bollox! A word on memtes86 - the default method for memory sizing (read from BIOS - BIOS-ALL) lead to no errors. Use memory sizing 'Probe' (with RAM in dual) lead to a crash. It still does with RAM in single channel!? I only have this fault in 10.6 with RAM in Dual channel ! All 4GB works just fine (no KP so far!) in single channel. Now either I've managed to purchase my 3rd dodgy motherboard from ebay (most likely scenario.) or there is an issue with this MSI board, OS X and dual channel'd RAM !! Has anybody else with an MSI Neo3 FR p45 experienced this ??? (Worth asking !!) Word to the wise buyers of motherboards - if it's on Ebay and it looks like a bargain - forget it - you're most likely buying somebody else's problems! Pay the extra £20 - $35 and buy a new one !!! - even if it's just for the peace of mind! Still - not had any problems in Win7 and memtest shows no errors ... is it 10.6, is it the hardware - is it just me ??? that question still needs an answer! Peace Out! D.
