valv
Is the bold line significant ?Hi Scorpy22,There is nothing to worry about. That's because I did not find a working register to gather voltage of I-series yet. We'll come to this later if you'd like to help fixing it I would to know how I can check if C-States are working.on terminal type this: ioreg -lw0 | grep CSTInfo. If it returns some value like 19136773, then it is working. Also, I find that the bootloader GUI is very slow (problem also exists in chameleon RC5) compared to another computer I use.Once you generated the needed SSDTs with it, you could dump 'em to your /Extra folder, getting rid of auto-generation. Maybe then the boot-time could be lower. Voltage: min= 1676mV, max= 908mVBut these are the min and Max volt values in the plist: <key>minVolt</key> <string>650</string> <key>maxVolt</key> <string>920</string> So, why is the minVolt from BDMESG reported as very much higher than maxVolt? Wow! That's huge. Would you mind uploading the whole files here (bdmesg & boot.plist). I Think I found a bug, my time is going slower, after few hours using laptop time is back of 20 miniuts, when I run Date and Time from Preferences I see like is changing to normal time. Did this happen with AnVAL latest version only. What about other versions of chameleon. Would it be possible for you to test an boot-loader other that anval and see if the behavior disappeared.I feel like the "bug" is tsc/apic/hpet related. Maybe your DSDT still needs some fixing. That's not what I meant by slow, for example when I set Timeout=2, I have to wait something like 8 seconds and there is a half-second delay between each printed line in the bootloader stage. valv
@MiniHack, I did fix some minor errors on your boot.plist. I also removed the minVolt key to be able to see the default value. would you mind testing it and dropping me a bdmesg?com.apple.Boot.plist.zip That's not what I meant by slow, for example when I set Timeout=2, I have to wait something like 8 seconds and there is a half-second delay between each printed line in the bootloader stage.ah! that sounds better. got it! am going to see what could be done in the next release(s). valv
@wojnar0, seems to me like applesmcpdrc is somehow interfering with what we try to accomplish. Which mac model do you have. I'd suggest something like mbp4,1. I'd also like to see the ssdts you are actually using. let's go step by step: make use of ForceFSB (inside of your boot.plist) and give it a value from 186 to 189 (look which one sounds better). @MiniHack, sorry I don't know what is going on with minVolt hope this gonna be addressed asap. Sound is still problem. Not always, only when something new starting play (for example when I listen music and I run movie), this only for one second, after that everything is normal. Geekbench show me 4016 points Now I must spend some time and I will see is time ok. Cheers //edit 2: 2394 / 12 = 199,5 Can I use that value for ForceFSB? //edit: I have still time bug Any ideas? valv
I have still time bug :mellow:Dont worry, we gonna get it (hopefully) look at those values in red Now try to add the correct values for an mbp5,1 under smbio.plist (those keys need to be added there). Also, I'd suggest you stick with a value under 190 for ForceFSB. You can also try to edit the multiplier's value. - I can't set Graphics Mode to 1920x1080x32. I get a black screen during the boot and it is not responding. I am using a custom theme with this resolution. 1280x1024x32 works fine.Got your post on the other topic. So am answering you here: This my friend is not chameleon's fault. It is simply because 1920x1080 isn't allowed by vesa.Even-though, as soon as we get into desktop that mode is supported. As it then becomes handled by the driver.
JBraddock
Got your post on the other topic. So am answering you here: This my friend is not chameleon's fault. It is simply because 1920x1080 isn't allowed by vesa.Even-though, as soon as we get into desktop that mode is supported. As it then becomes handled by the driver. I see. Also I was able to use a theme designed for 1920x1080 prior to RC5, which I can use right now to some extend as timeout screen and the actual Chameleon menu where the HDD icons show up seem to be overlapped. Is this also related to the mode you mentioned? Then I assume that you'd done some fundamental changes to graphics mode which I couldn't follow. Edit: I added the following to get the correct Motherboard version. <key>SMboardversion</key> <string>Mac-F2268AC8</string> But after running the Geekbench, I have "Apple Inc. Mac-F42D89C8 Mac-F2268AC8" appear in the Motherboard section. Mac-F42D89C8 is for MacbookPro5,1 and MacbookPro4,1. So it seems that the value I added can't override the one that Chameleon tries to assign but append to it. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMbiosdate</key> <string>06/15/2009</string> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Computer, Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MBP55.88Z.00AC.B00.0905060849</string> <key>SMboardmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Computer, Inc.</string> <key>SMboardversion</key> <string>Mac-F2268AC8</string> <key>SMexternalclock</key> <string>266</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>MacBook Pro</string> <key>SMmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMmaximalclock</key> <string>2261</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter</key> <string>Apple Computer Inc.</string> <key>SMmemspeed</key> <string>800</string> <key>SMmemtype</key> <string>19</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacBookPro5,5</string> <key>SMsystemversion</key> <string>1.0</string> </dict> </plist> Hardware Overview: Model Name: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,5 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.26 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 4 GB Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz Boot ROM Version: MBP55.00AC.B00 SMC Version (system): 0.147f2 Serial Number (system): SOMESRLNMBR Hardware UUID: // deleted
valv
But after running the Geekbench, I have "Apple Inc. Mac-F42D89C8 Mac-F2268AC8" appear in the Motherboard section. So it seems that the value I added can't override the one that Chameleon tries to assign but append to it. you would need this instead (literally the same as in real mbp5,5) <key>SMboardversion</key> <string>Not Specified</string> The one you are trying to override should be the SMboardproduct (in the green rectangle on the image). Add it to the smbios.plist file with the right value (you 've been trying to add).
wojnar0
I have the same problem, two motherboards Here is my smbios.plist: SMbiosdate 04/01/2008 SMbiosversion MBP51.88Z.00C1.B03.0802271651 SMfamily MacBook Pro SMmanufacter Apple Inc. valv
the same problem, two motherboards the same instructions. You should add SMboardproduct to smbios.plist. As of an original mbp5,1, this has "Proto" as value.btw, That is not showing two motherboards, as the first is for the board version and second one is for the board product. To make it clear for everybody, here is the new SMBios injection's terms:

SMbiosvendor
SMbiosversion
SMbiosdate
SMmanufacter
SMproductname
SMsystemversion
SMserial
SMUUID
SMfamily
SMboardmanufacter
SMboardproduct
SMboardversion
SMboardserial
SMchassismanufacter
SMchassisversion
SMchassisserial
SMProcessorfamily
SMexternalclock
SMmaximalclock
SMmemdevloc
SMmembankloc
SMmemtype
SMmemspeed
SMmemmanufacter
SMmemserial
SMmempart
SMoemcpu
SMcputype
SMbusspeed
mitch_de
Very interesting about that ! I thougth that only the MacModell (MacPro3,1 ....) does have effect on cpu powermanagement (clockings) and the other parameters in smbios are only cosmetik / for getting hackintosh seen as Mac and not hackintosh in geekbench. valv
Updated to 5.0.7 with minor changes to SMBios default values, some png files for open/freebsd (thanks to my dear friend Blackosx) and added nvidia 0x10DE10C3 (GeForce 8400 GS).
