(to avoid errors do not rewrite by hand, do copy paste or redirect to a .txt file like this: sysctl -a | grep cpufreq > ~/Desktop/cpufreq.txt) whatever, the values u 've been giving are from first release on first post, right? valv
valv now i haven't black screen but my cpu is showed as 3.33 ghz (default cpu clock) instead 4.3 ghz...now i'll try without acpiupdateversion flag. EDIT: same problem also without that flag. was this with beta2b or rc5pre8??? also unless you do a new manual install, when jumping from rc5pre8 to beta2b/06-04 (with those other files from 06/04), it would give problems. XLR
can u post boot.plist & smbios.plist The beta2b seems to work fine from what i can tell. See attachment for my Extra folder, it's all i have added to my system. Everything else is 100% vanilla and works out of the box. (i don't use smbios.plist) Extra.zip

DariosF
Ok, i've done.... Cpu freq with boot 06-04 is right. With beta2b no, the max freq is 3.33 ghz. But with boot 06-04 i can see during boot "acpi table not found". If i use boot beta2b my pc seems more fast, but cpu freq is 3.33 instead 4.3. Bye cpufreq_boot_06_04.txt cpufreqbeta2b.txt
valv
But with boot 06-04 i can see during boot "acpi table not found". That is no issue. it happens in verbose mode to tell u which tables u did not provide.

00diabolic
Valv.. Wow You got it man. Voodoo Monitor says I have 2700 CPU but that is because it sets 2 p-states above my actual cpu multiplier. That is not an issue either way because It never clocks them. CPU Clock: 2700 MHz FSB Clock: 800 MHz Bus Clock: 200 MHz You have a flawless bootloader.. Ill keep running this and see if there are any issues but so far so good. UPDATE: One issue that Ive found. It seems that my benchmark scores have dropped with this version. I'm not sure why but there at or only a little higher then my 738fsb results. Not the leap I was looking for. I cant see any issue anywhere though. CPU, ram, FSB all detected correctly. Update 2: I was wrong. I had smbios.plist in place and forgot about it. It seems that the system is really clocked over by 200mhz on my CPU. Not sure why but it is higher. I actually dont care if you fix this valv.. I have my FSB and thats all that matters to me at this point.. THe overclocking of the CPU also seems to delay system sounds a bit. They kinda stumble to play.

00diabolic
Hey 00Diabolic ~~,that's good news too. Its awesome work Valv.. I have found a glitch with system sounds but I can deal with that. If you find a fix that would be great though.

00diabolic
Can u further explain this to dumb me, please. I don't follow here Well I had my smbios.plist filled out completely.. With cpu speed, fsb etc and completely forgot I had it in place. I have another one this is nearly blank with just the model number in it etc that I use for testing. I thought I had the nearly blank one in place when I tried your last beta but I had the full one. It confused me and I thought my system was perfect. The only issue with beta2 valv is the cpu being overclocked by 200mhz. Ram is still over clocked a bit also. 800mhz when it should be 667mhz. FSB is right. Because the cpu or ram (not sure) is overclocked it actually causes a delay in system sounds. I think its the Ram (had the same issue with the last few alphas also and ram was at 800 in those 2). For example the bell sound when you get an error plays only half the sound and then a few mila seconds go by and the other part plays. Its like its delayed a little bit. The only other cause for this could be that I have yet to reinstall the other files in the bootloader. I just installed the boot file and not the rest of the bootloader from your last release. Could this be why the ram is off? Ill go reinstall that with beta2b again and see if that fixes it. I doubt it will. If you can fix this minor issue it looks like youl be looking at a final release here. Otherwise I'm happy with this one.
valv
The only issue with beta2 valv is the cpu being overclocked by 200mhz.ok, thank u for explanation. Now what about VoodooPower? u know it has its word to say also.I don't remember by now if it handles floating point or not. that could be the no issue if u had vanilla speed-step. but just to be sure, is it possible to boot without VoodooPower? If yes, could you please look what values u 'd get? Greetz big lol, we 're turning the forum into a chat room. It 'd be wiser to have AnVAL's own irc. just kidding. I remember once, a mod on the fbsd forum yelling at a long discussion (with respect to all mods). hope I 'll not get same remarks here. I 'll feel too small Thank the tolerance of cparm and the good guyz (and ladies )

As for voodoopower Ill get rid of it and see what happens. I am working on going to a more vanilla system anyway so its next on my list to get rid of but I was trying to learn more about how vanilla speed step works before I got rid of it. Ill keep you posted. Looks like Ill be accelerating my vanilla plans.. :-)

valv
00Diabolic ~~, I 'd suggest you wisely take your time to investigate things first, it is a long run. hopefully u find some people with exactly same machine that already did it. And before speed-step, u'll need a DSDT cure. Thus u would be able to boot with minimum kexts. Greetz
