If u want, u can use this one:boot.zipbefore u do, I'd like to be sure about something. Do u have reggie_se app ? if yes, run it. Then on the cpu section click on CLOCK MODULATION (just like on the screenshot)

then give a screenshot of what is showing behind (like the one below)

am afraid it is caused by overclocked FSB. don't go behind 190. I'd suggest u stick with (186 -> 189) and see progressively at which value sound becomes cracky.

That true that cracky sound is from overclocked FSB, I checked with uncomplete AppleHDA for my music card and I still have cracky sound.

 

 

And tell me please what are benefits with using TStates?

 

My CPU are the same like in mbp4,1, maybe this is usefull information?

AutoResolution doesn't work.

MemDetect works but not good.

Does your bootloader can recignise machine type (desktop, laptop etc.)? If yes this feature doesn't work for me (see attachment please).

I got GPUPLimit in IORegExpl never before. Now there is. Very interesting/strange.

some "wikipiding" won't neither According to the ACPI Specs, the C0 working state of a modern-day CPU can be divided into the so called "P"-states (performance states) which allow clock rate reduction and "T"-states (throttling states) which will further throttle down a CPU (but not the actual clock rate) by inserting STPCLK (stop clock) signals and thus omitting duty cycles.

PS: I see you use AppleUpstreamClient.kext (belongs only to Nvidia GPUs) - often reason for problems with some nvidia cards (video playback / mouse moving). You dont need to use that for my knowledge.

regarding AppleUpstreamClient.kext, can u be more specific as of what it does and how to get rid of its load. Would removing it form /s/l/e improve stability ? I personally, don't have those symptoms, apart from a slower webcam output.

- c-states & p-states is more efficient on cpu that support those features.

 

- in some case, t-states can even increase power consumption, and this is not what we want

i made CPU changes in my dsdt and now i get all C and P states working with MacPro3.1

 

but the very best, OC works too from com.apple.Boot.plist. just set ForceFSB=320

 

all is set to auto 3060 Mhz and works with 3680 Mhz.

 

Vcore is set to auto too. if i want to OC to 3852 i need more Vcore but min/maxvolt don´t take effekt.

 

are you able to fix this or is it impossible because Asus don´t wont it ?

Could that be one of the reasons of seeing decreases in Open GL score after almost every OSX updates. I do have a legacy AGPM now but I don't know if it does any good. Since I have gpu-control appear under GFX then I assume it really does something.

Only thing I know for certain is that it decreases my Open GL score a little bit (:

 

@Valv, also you wouldn't happen to know why sometimes I lose CSTinfo?

BTW, the mac has a value of 0x1140105 for CSTinfo, which reminds me of the discussion in Speedstep topic on whether C4 States is being enabled or not. Most people have 0x1240105 as their CSTinfo value.

What do we know about this? How could we know if we have all C-States working?

HI AnVAL, I do the test with version 5.0.8, and there is something wrong about CPU, I set my laptop type to MBP5.1 and get speedstep.

 

FIrst, the CPU Voltage

Voltage: min= 1004mV, max= 1388mV

I read from intel site, the T2390 Voltage is at 1.075V-1.175V. Maybe the osx calculate method is different ?

 

Second, the FSBFreq, the dmesg shows :

CPU: FSBFreq:					  133MHz

This should be 533Mhz.

 

Also, There is another thing,

Errors encountered while starting up the computer.
Pausing 5 seconds...

I got this error all the time after updating RC5, even with AnVAL boot loader, it does not appears in the RC4.
