latest beta over here.

@JBraddock, this one should fix your issue.

Tried latest drop (ASUS P5G41-M LX2/GB, Celeron DC E1200, 3 GB DDR2-800 chipset-underclocked to DDR2-667, iAtkos S3V2/10.6.3 - only enabler pre-installer change is RealTek RTL-8168/8111D/E). GPU is Visiontek HD5450 PCIe (Cedar Pro - Mobility Radeon HD5450 in desktop clothing; basically, Evergreen version of Mobility Radeon HD3450).

I have *not* updated to 10.6.4 yet.

Since I haven't gone to 10.6.4 (or tried Graphics Update 1.0, which has caused many KPs), I expected little or nothing. While it wasn't a magic bullet, I do have 1440x1050 (vice 1024x768), so I actually have a better resolution fit on my Acer H233H.bmid.

Time for phase two (10.6.4 Combo Update).

Hi valv, thanks a lot, I download the update one and replace RC4 version boot file . Here is the boot message with bdmesg, and I have some question like :

1,How can I get ride of the inform about dedicate memory on the top of screen when booting computer ?

2,I can see in the logs ,this message appears :

Errors encountered while starting up the computer.

and

efi_inject_get_devprop_string NULL trying stringdata

PS:When I replace the new version boot file ,I repair permissions and rebuild caches .Maybe I do something wrong in the boot.plist file or smbios.plist .

Here is my boot.plist file , smbios.plist and logs :attachment.zip

Thanks again .

@eMatoS, sorry for the illusion; I myself don't own one; so the testing batteries didn't show up that negative result.

Hi valv, thanks a lot, I download the update one and replace RC4 version boot file .
u should not replace the boot file only. As rc5 is sorta major release, they don't behave identically under the hood. So I'd suggest u go with the new files from the beginning (boot0hfs, boot1h...); but please do yourself a favor, do it on a test-boot partition (e.g. usb or so) before u stick with it, just in case.

Back to the errors u are getting: the first one is understandable, as u replaced the boot of rc4 with the one from rc5.

Regarding the second message, it appears when you don't use any device injection, and it is normal. so to avoid this one, u can use the EthernetBuiltIn key for example.

Thank u for the feedback.

"under/over-volting functionality"

What is it exactly?

you can play with the cpu voltage so to say, by injecting the max & min voltage you'd like.

Great - because the RC5 autopstate gen forces KPs (after some time). I checked them and they are up to 70 mV less than my self injected in dsdt.

But within the .zip there is no parameter list for that new features.

Would be nice to see an example how to set minimal VID.

And does that mean i have to to generell MIN MAX VID ?

Even better would it be , because most didnt know their excat VID , if there would be an VID+ feature which autocomputes Pstate-VIDs like RC5 but also add some VID mVolts to each PState VID (in VID steps (each 16/32 mV) more as the autocomputed to each PState)

It is the case: if u don't inject min max voltage, it is auto-computed. Relying on what values u injected, VIDs would be recalculated accordingly.

Edit: for parameters list look at help on boot screen, sorry

Thanks, but would my old help.text file , which can show help infos at boottime, really knwo that new Pstates Min VID key and usage ?

You dont have a new help.txt within the 5.0.1 zip.

I will - can I ask what format the Voltage min/Max value has to be in? mV decimal mV hex ?

D

int mV, e.g.: 1100 --> 1.1 V,

anyway u cannot go with more than 100 mV (compared to oem) for max and 250 for min; else defaults to oem values.

values are injectable from boot.plist, mine looks like this:
