EDIT: Maked my own installer, download in my signature "Other Drivers" Agreed dude but the drivers posted in the first topic are old ones which have problem with pc's that are connected via DVI(gpu)-HDMI(monitor). But the drivers i gave are from Nvidia 256 which have fixed the problems of connecting via HDMI-DVI. I tried installing but it does nothing. Is there a way to fix HDMI-Dvi issues i get washed out colours and black bars when i install aqua-mac fermi drivers.
kozlek
Ajhu, I am waiting months for the fermi driver that will work at least with normal power management to not to burn my video and to use sleep mode.

For me everything works perfect. Expect washed out brightness and colors and black bars in corners of the screen. I had this issue with old Windows drivers i.e 190.xx with Windows 7 by connecting HDMI-DVI immediately many users reported in Nvidia forums and a temporary fix was posted by modifying the NV_disp.inf file and when driver 256 was launched Nvidia fixed those problems by making the OS assume that you got a DVI-DVI connection. Now i got no idea about macintosh since i'm a newbie
Alexey Fominykh
There is no support for the GTX480/470 in 10.6.5, as there is no NVDAGF100Hal.kext included. The one you have installed before is there but is mismatched to 10.6.5 kexts. To get your card working again, you will have to reinstall older kexts. Look here: LINK This can be done from another working bootable copy of OS X. Aqua-Mac, Thanks for your contribution! Just updated to SL 10.6.5 and after reboot in safe mode installed your Fermi Fix - everything installed smoothly. And now the rig is working as it was on 10.6.4. PS. My video adapter is Asus ENGTX470 (reference card nVidia GTX470), MB - Asus P5QSE, CPU - Q6600

kerunt
I've been following this thread for some months now, all the while waiting for Apple to lease something that will make my GTX460 work. So the big question, is there any chance of this still happening within the next couple months, or should I just end the misery and sell the card, while picking up something else? InfiniteFool
So, let me see if I understand correctly; the GTX 470 works, but OpenCL doesn't work and the VSync is off? Am I right? Are there any other problems?

I am surprised that you still hang in there, as stated earlier, Apple have never released updated drivers for graphic cards or graphic chips that is not in their product line, and no custom drivers have been released since it´s basically to hard to hack together. Either a ATI Radeon HD 5870 or a ATI Radeon HD 5770 is a safe bet, since they are in the latest Mac Pro´s.

Are there any other problems? And you need OpenCL and Vsync for what? (really I don't know!) Thinking of switching my GTX285 to a GTX470, is that a good idea thinking of that I want even better performance with Mercury Playback Engine in Premiere CS5? Many thx in advance! safwanc
I know this thread covers the 470/480. From what I'm reading the 465 uses the same GF100 chip. Has anyone got a GX465 to work? (evga) Thanks I've had no luck with the same card (EVGA GTX 465).

Gringo Vermelho
Apple have never released updated drivers for graphic cards or graphic chips that is not in their product line Graphics chips, that much is true AFAIK. However, the stock nvidia drivers do support some cards that aren't available for Macs, such as the 9800GTX+ with device ID 0x0612. Of course other cards with the G92 chip are available in Mac versions.
sqalg
hello I'm following this topic from beginning. I sell my GTX 460 today , because I need to have SL on my PC. I have my old 8800GTS inside now. But I want to know what is the best card-graphic for the moment ? GTX 470 or 5870 ? In few days , the new graphics cards of ATI will be out , shops will sell cut prices for the old ones? UPDATE: postponned by ATI What do you think about it ? i2k
I've had no luck with the same card (EVGA GTX 465). Thanks for this reply, I returned the GTX 465 to amazon and got the 470. Which is working well in OSX thanks to the guides on this forum and trial and error. I had luck using Nawcom's boot loader and the Retail DVD.
