cmf
@myrorym i took a shot at fakesmc again and there seems to be a regression between 2.7 and 2.7.2 (2.7 working, 2.7.2 not working). i also tested 3.1, but it has the same problem as 2.7.2. now, i'll try to figure out what went wrong between r211 and r480 ... also note that fermi support in fakesmc is rather incomplete, i'll post a patch when i'm done. edit: my bad, 2.7.2 actually does work. SMCWinbondController.kext was interfering with the new kexts ... but now cpu voltage and all system fans are gone edit 2: after further testing, rebooting and facepalming, i've come to the conclusion that the version i was already using (r211) works best for me ... diff and binaries coming soon ... edit 3: diff against r211: fakesmc.diff.txt binaries (copy to /S/L/E): FakeSMC_fermi.zip this also works on lion. cmf
F**ck Lion, we need it for snow leo:/ Most ppl dont use lion as a primary os imo and will not until its stable and progorams are compatible with it. it's quite stable actually, i didn't have a single post-boot kp yet. safari is much more stable than in sl, flash crashed a few times though :> istat menus also works after a little hack and the latest little snitch nightly works too. adium, netnewswire, vlc, movist, xcode, wacom driver, photoshop all work fine. the only programs i'm having trouble with are dropbox (worked in dp1, doesn't work in dp2) and anything that uses cuda (no lion support yet, hope they'll add it in the next rc). of course there are some smaller issues here and there, like the broken expose and no multisampling in opengl that i posted earlier, or finder doing some crazy things like not displaying the sidebar or displaying the status bar at the top, but i can live with that. upside >> downside now, going for 1d uptime ... myrorym
binaries (copy to /S/L/E): FakeSMC_fermi.zip Thanks. That was the trick. Now I get GPU Fan Heatsink & diode readouts. However, included IntelThermal plugin, and the newer v3 IntelCPUMonitor(which used before) only give me readout of two cores. CPU A and B. Is there a necessary edit to get all cores recognized? I am on single chip 6-core Xeon. Could I be misunderstood here? Shouldn't I be reading out more than 2 CPUs in iStatPro? Thanks for the help. Nex7er
Does this video play for you?http://www.unlimitedloveinstitute.org/media/video-ebru.html If it works, there's a good chance FCP does too. That video is upside down for me. Using 460 in Lion. Haven't installed the nVidia drivers. Expose is messed and launchpad is a bit laggy. 1080p youtube plays superbly. Should I go ahead and install the nVidia drivers? Just wondering considering Rominator has OpenCL working just fine. *sends pm*

Nex7er
Lion DP2 has newer Nvidia drivers than the ones they let you download. Lion DP1 is "old " already,. Aha. Still, how did you manage to get your 460 working just fine? Is it a reference card from nVidia or a branded one? Reference has always worked fine, but branded no. I got a lockup with my 460 last night so I just switched out to my 8800. Running DP2.

mitch_de
I tried a couple times, keeps saying "Email can't be sent" Sorry for that. Which OS X ? I already got lots of OS X 10.6x mails by the new beta. So must be not an general problem. If Lion DP, have you already setup mail and can send mails and allowed, if asked, to acess keychain from the app? You can post result here (screenshoot / gpu type values) also
rominator
My email works fine, but I still can't send according to app. Anyhow, here is screen shot. I have 2 @ GTX480s in this Mac but only 1 shows up. Also, it gets around 15 fps while a lowly GT120 (9500GT to anyone but Apple) get 10 fps. Perhaps low score is because it is running at 0 Mhz? The Luxrender 1.0 with red dock icon can see both cards and scales benchmark accordingly.
