tuff bob
Another person here with random freezes, I thought it was my system, I was reseating graphics cards, memory etc, flashing bioses. Glad somebody else figured something out. This is with a machine I reinstalled 10.6 then upgraded to 10.6.5 and installed the drivers from the NVIDIA site, so its not like I have other cranky kexts, also the system was stable before with a 8800GT. enb14
I got kernel panic with my DP45SG motherboard + GTX460 768MB using Chameleon RC5 r643 with GraphicsEnabled=Yes computer set as MacPro3,1 using DVI monitor so I think we have to wait for a newer bootloader or new drivers. According to tonymac forum the cards with 768 MB and 1GB are the ones that seems to crash randomly but some of them seem to work fine. http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=...27&start=
akiNikki
May I ask this freeze you mean is like a temporary freeze say few seconds, where you can't use mouse or keyboard or anything but suddenly after few seconds it moves again? Well i had that too. recurrently. Rig as shown below.
elpibe10
May I ask this freeze you mean is like a temporary freeze say few seconds, where you can't use mouse or keyboard or anything but suddenly after few seconds it moves again? Well i had that too. recurrently. Rig as shown below. Complete freeze. It usually starts with the mouse not responding and later on, the music will just keep repeating the last word and sometimes, the system may even KP. The only way out is a hard reset. BTW, I did notice that of the 2 Fermi rigs that I have, the one that freezes seems to be quite laggy when browsing this InsanelyMac site. Scrolling up and down isn't as smooth as the other Fermi rig that doesn't freeze. Maybe you guys can check it out and compare your 'freezing' Fermi rig with other rigs that you have (i.e. when scrolling up and down on InsanelyMac). My girlfriend wants to get me a card for christmas, but IDK if I should get the 470 or the 570... GTX-570=No.As of yet no one has got it running. To be honest at the moment none of the fermi cards run faster than the GTX-260. So keep that in mind when spending your money. (I have seen some slightly higher performance but it comes at the price of random freezing). rabbit.

I know that no one has a 570 running yet, I was just asking if it was possible in theory since the card uses an identical chipset to the GTX 580 which (in theory) is supposed to be supported by this driver. I am thinking of taking my chances and going with a 570 and just keeping my fingers crossed, but the fact that no one even has a working 580 puts the odds against me. toleda
Installed OSX on my ASRock Vision 3D. With Chameleon v351, the GT425M is recognized. Unfortunately, the HDMI port stops working after boot. The graphics card does not show anything connected even though the TV is connected. The DVI port works fine and DVI and HDMI both work in Windows. Any ideas? The correct version of Chameleon is v651.
enb14
Guys finally I've got my GTX460 EVGA fixed (no more kernel panics) the problem was due to auto detect graphics card by bootloader so I added the EFI string manually with 768MB in RAM then removed auto detect graphics and now the Kernel Panics are gone. I've got my first OSX setup working just about a week ago, it took me about 20 hours to get all hardware working properly. And now these KP and freezes with GTX460 is the only unresolved problem that I still have. Unfortunately I'm a complete newbie in this area, so may I ask you for detailed 'guide' on how you get this fixed? What exactly should I add to com.apple.Boot.plist? (this is the place for putting EFI strings as I understood, right?) How I can disable auto detect graphics?

As soon as I ran through the howto I run into the problem of getting frozen in the loading screen, or i have to boot in safe mode. I'm using an EVGA GTX460 768MB. Also I'm not gaining any of the actual drivers. Can anyone help me?
