Anyone have this working with a GTX 295? (I know it's old :P )

I see my device ID (05e010de) in the NVD50Hal.kext for this new driver set. It's not in the GF100hal kext tho, added it and still nothing :(

Both GraphicsEnabler on Yes or No leads to a blank blue screen, just shy of getting to the desktop :)

hi all GTX 480 WORKING!

had cmf update 2010/08/03 previously intalled then followed flyday guide:

(Flyday @ Nov 17 2010, 07:01 PM)

Installation guide. If you do not have another video card.

1. Install 10.6.5 update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1324, do not reboot.

2. Install Chameleon 2 RC5 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=231075

3. Download driver: http://www.mediafire.com/?5sq55pw31055ra1

4. Copy all kexts to /System/Library/Extensions (replace old ones)

5. Add this to your boot plist if you haven't done so already:

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

6. Clear caches, repair permissions and reboot.

All is working great ! easy install ...

didnt check cuda yet!

specs

giga byte UD9

corsair 12 gb kit

EVGA GTX 480

THANKS!

i used this method for my GTX460 and now all i get is a black screen(after the initial spinning wheel splash). won't even boot into safe mode.

i spent all yesterday trying to get my 460 going.. the above method was the last method i tried before my osx stuffed..

i tried booting into osx setup, ran diskutil and repaired disk permissions but made no difference.

any help would be greatly appreciated. My card is an evga 1gb gtx460

thanks,

el :(

How to get worked GTS 450

Sorry, but as it was explained more lately, card works not very stably :-(

I've get the latest bootloader from here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...216726&st=0 (14-11-2010, and there is a tutorial how to install it correctly)

Next step - download this drv pack http://www.mediafire.com/?cchq8ttwukn2x2a

After you install it, make changes to /System/Library/Extensions/NVDAGF100Hal.kext/Contents/Info.plist: add the next string "0x0dc410de&0xffc0ffff" without quotes in the specific part.

Then you must remove all your strings from com.Apple.boot.plist and add

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>y</string>

Reboot. QE works perfectly, but sometimes i've get a KP :(

That's all. May be nVidia makes the new driver in future, that can support our 0x0dc4 card natively and without kernel panic's :-)

ps sorry for my ugly english plz =)

(480 here) Rotation menu doesn't even appear in the Displays preferences.

Same here on my 470.

Rotation works ok on GTX 460.

Dang, I used to have one of those. Can anyone else confirm rotation works on a GF104-based card (e.g. 460 and similar)? Also, can someone try all three display ports on a 460?

Edit: okay, so nVidia lied to me somewhere along the line. It was my impression all three outputs worked on the Fermi cards (they don't).

I love this new driver.

Finally sleep is working again

Yes!! S3 sleep works again here too, for the first time on Snow Leopard. sleep/wake is scary fast, faster than in Windows 7.

9800GTX+, C2D E8500, P5Q-E (ICH10R/P45), MacPro3,1.

It was my impression all three outputs worked on the Fermi cards (they don't).

Yes, only two outputs can work at the same time.

Hello everyone.

I got my GTX460 almost working, but i still have a "small" problem. My computer keeps crashing 10 to 15 minutes after i booted Mac OS. sometimes i get a kernel panic, and sometimes it just freezes up on me with some weird black artifacts in the upper left corner.

The funny thing is, this only happens when i'm _not_ straining the graphic card, for example when i am surfing the web. Last night i played WoW for 3 hours, and 10 minutes after i quit the game, the computer crashed. The only way i can keep my computer running while i'm surfing, is to start glxgears, and let it run in the background.

I'm using the smbios.plist from the Chameleon package, so i'm faking a MacPro 3.1, but when i start the test in OpenGL Extensions Viewer, i can see speedstep is working, because it runs at about 200 fps for the first half a second, before it steps up to about 3000 fps. I have tried to fake a MacBookPro 6.1, but this didn't change anything, except that i needed to change the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext for the speedstep to work.

And btw i made a reinstallation on the same computer, but with a 9800GTX, and it was rock solid. The GTX460 graphic card has also been tested for 2 month now in both win 7 and linux, and it is also solid.

Does anyone have an idea what I should do, so i don't have to run glxgears in the background all the time?

I have an ep45 ud3p rev 1.6 that i've been using with a gtx 275 without issue for sometime. This installation was done using the stella v3 ep45ud3p pkg.

I've been monitoring this thread for sometime, once i saw the official driver release I decided to pop one of my gtx 470's in after installing the nvidia driver.

Seems to work ok until I try to play WoW. Screen and computer in general locks up completely but audio continues, requires a hard reset to reboot.

System profiler does not identify card or amount of ram.

Same problem here - everything was working OK until I tried running World of Warcraft. I can log in and get all the way into the world, but after a second the whole system locks up with the background music playing. Nothing but a hard reset gets it out.

In the video-options, try setting Shadow Quality to low, Liquid Detail to Low, Sunshafts to Disabled and Particle Density to Low. This helped me. :(

flydeprut.

Same here with my 460, system KP's when just surfing web but is fine doing xbench and cinebench?

Have tried most things on this thread but am back to my 9800gtx+, and as you say it is solid with this card.

I must be missing somthing but no as yet has done a straight forward guide for these cards, but i'am shure one will turn up soon.

Have you overclocked your system? because i backed mine off a bit on a hunch and it seemed to stop kp,s, but was trying other stuff to and goofed up two systems so like i say back with the solid 9800 for now.

That helped me as well! Thanks! Have you tried raising any of these higher to find out the absolutely minimum it needs before it starts crashing? I tried raising the first one to medium and it immediately locked up again, so I'm hesitant to even try the others.

Anyone here has Vsync and lag problems? and any solution for it? Please share your experiences....

If you had read this thread then you knew that the v-sync problem was solved with the latest driver.

So if you still have that problem then give more info then only saying it's now working.

There are 60 pages of shared experiences, not enough??

My system is macpro3,1 and i tried edited applegraphicspowermanagement.kext with my GPU ID and even deleting it but it is still unsolved, i have already applied the latest drivers... some other people also have the same problemwith v-sync and lags.... hope u can help...

For the benefit of those who haven't read the whole thread:

The above list does not imply that the listed video cards will actually work. Except those that have been confirmed as working of course.

If you have a card that's on the list and use the patched bootloader, your video card's name will appear in System Profiler under Graphics, no matter if QE/CI is working or not, or if it's even possible to get it to work or not.

There are 60 pages of shared experiences, not enough??

It's never enough.

Hi, I've been trying to get a evga GTX 465 running on a EX58-UD5 build with little success. I'm able to boot into lowres mode (1024x768), but adding resolutions to the boot.plist don't seem to have an effect.

I updated to 10.6.5, updated the bootloader, added graphics enabler, copied the kexts, copied the frameworks, cleared caches and rebooted. There were no changes.

Any idea what could be keeping this card from being recognized?

No, i have not played around with the settings, but my guess is, you can raise particle density, but not the three others.
