I get random kernel panics with the new driver. I'm not 100% sure whether it comes from the graphic card driver or anything else. But i get no further description of the KP nor in verbose mode.

Only i get a small black square in the upper left corner. Screenshot

Just install the drivers from nvidia, FWIW I'm still running Chameleon RC3, anything past that I had issues with my nvidia cards not being detected properly.

EDIT: looking at the guide you followed, it had you install the AsereBLN bootloader, it properly doesn't detect the newer nvidia cards correctly, so it won't load the drivers, I would install Chameleon.

Well I don't know how but I finally got it to run, the one missing ingredient as far as I can tell was the -pci1 flag that needed to be set. Now it's running fine with latest Chameleon Loader.

The 'Unknown Chipset' issues like Whopper2005 is having seem to be related to the Chameleon bootloader. Patching to 619 solved it for me.

However, tinkering with my sound has patxhed my Mac version from Pro 3.1 to a 4.1, GLbench scores dropped in the process form 3000 to 450, and editing the AppleGraphics etc. Has'nt helped.

Now my sound is working but the graphics are shot. Nice !

Anybody see this?

After install new drivers I see

any Ideas?

run in safe mode and download the 10.6.5 combo update, install that and reinstall the nvidia drivers before rebooting. That should fix it!

Got the following hardware to work:

Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P

EVGA 460GTX

i7 860

2x4GB OCZ DDR3 + 2x4GB Patriot DDR3

- Installed 10.6.3 via ##### & Snow Leopard DVD

- Installed ##### & 10.5.5 Update

- Installed the latest Chameleon (beta) bootloader

- Installed 10.6.5 & the new drivers

- Added my device id to the kext file.

- Made sure that GraphicsEnabler=Yes is set.

At this point I was still stuck in 1024x768.

Upgraded BIOS to F14 and it worked!

Had to separately install kext files for ethernet and audio. Onboard audio still only works through my USB headset, not through the "regular" audio jacks at the back. Preferences show that the digital audio is also recognized, but still not the old ones...

another method.

i patched Chameleon 2.0RC5-r635 (trunk 630) for GrapchicsEnabler GT 430 and GTX 580,

add GT430 and GTX580 video size setteing code to mem_detect().

Chamelen 2.0RC5-r635 patched GeForce GT430 and GTX580

1. install nVIDIA official driver (QUADRO MAC OS X DRIVER RELEASE 256).

2. extract boot file, and install boot to /

3. edit com.apple.Boot.plist

example.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>GraphicsEnabler=yes VBIOS=yes arch=x86_64</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>5</string>
</dict>
</plist>

No dice on the GTX 580 I'm afraid. It's still locking up when SL tries to bring up the GUI.

Or

1- This happens because you change OpenCL an OpenGL frameworks. Put the original files in System/Libraey/Frameworks Repair permisions and reboot.

2 - Or you need the last CUDA drivers.

Try 1st first

Has anyone tried playing Starcraft II after installing this nVidia driver ?

My Zotac GTX 460 1GB works great with everything but when I tried to launch Starcraft II, it goes into blank screen but the game is still running as I can hear the audio from the movie and later from the login menu.

Command-M doesn't bring it to windows mode either.

Force Quit manages to quit the game but the screen remains blank.

Only option is to cold start the rig.

*** I'm not sure if this is because Starcraft II detected the gfx card as a Quadro 4000 (Quadro is listed as not compatible with the game) or if my monitor (Dell 2311H connected via DisplayPort) isn't able to display at the default resolution of the game (whatever it is).

I'm getting the same issue. mine when I load Starcraft II, it crashes the OS so I was wondering why this game does that

by the way starcraft II is the original one no cracks added.

I think there is something wrong with the new drivers: My GTX 260 has 192 cores and at the open GL test I get scores around 3800 and 4000, my GTX 470 has 448 cores and I get scores about 4800 and 5000.

Premiere CS5 can´t show even one Canon 5dMkII Video without juddering (is this the right word, sorry for my english), on PC´s you should get 4 videos at the same time including color correction!

In some of my testing it seems like these drivers are only using 112 cores and no more.

Welcome to Flam4 - Mac Edition!

1 CUDA Device on your Mac:

CUDA Device: GeForce GTX 460 with 1023MB 112 CUDA Cores

With the GTS 250 (Correct amount of Cuda Cores)

1 CUDA Device on your Mac:

CUDA Device: GeForce GTS 250 with 1023MB 128 CUDA Cores

Download http://sourceforge.net/projects/flam4/file...DA.pkg/download

and see how many cores is usable

With the new nVidia driver I can confirm that the GTX 465 now fully works. And I now get more options than just 1080i TV, now I have PAL options as well.

Hey Autero. I also tired to get the 465 running. Sadly without success. I am still in VESA mode. I am using no DSTL . I use GE=YES and Cham. RC5. Did you edit any Info.plists?

Cheers from Germany

yes installed

but no efffffect :(

I was having the same problem with my 480. Install Nvidia Cuda 3.1.17, reinstall GPU Flame Fractal Renderer, and when you run it you should be prompted to update to CUDA Toolkit 3.2, Anyway I rebooted after this and I'm getting 240 CUDA Cores, though I should obviously have 480 cores lol.

Hello again guys. a bit offtopic from me, but question which can help to prepare boot cd with fermi support.

How to update chameleon from RC4 to RC5 on boot cd?

I have a custom boot132 mars cd which i was using for my 8800 gts installation, but it has chameleon rc4 rxxx. What should i do do update chameleon on it to RC5? Should I just copy and overwrite "boot" file from rc5 bins or something else?

ISO contains files like this:
