Archer75:

"unknown" is up to your injection method. It's just cosmetic, the drivers know what card you have.

If you're using Chameleon GraphicsEnabler=y you can edit the source code yourself and add your video card's device ID, then it'll show correctly in System Profiler. It's not any harder than editing a text document.

OS X does not support SLI (or Crossfire).

Not necessarily, maybe its as simple as adding your cards device ID to GF100HAL.kext.

Google 'guide for all nvidia boards' and follow the examples given there.

I have edit my info.plist (GF100HAL.kext) and now this is how it looks

<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>

<string>

0x06c010de&0xffe0ffff

0x0dc010de&0xffc0ffff

0x0e2010de&0xffe0ffff

0x0e2210de&0xffe0ffff (GTX460)

0x0ee010de&0xffe0ffff

0x0f0010de&0xffc0ffff

0x104010de&0xffc0ffff

0x108010de&0xffe0ffff

</string>

But still nothing, maybe is a problem with the boot, but I have updated it to chamaleon RC5 Rev. 619 and still nothing

Thank for your replay

Fixed the problem with large blocks, if you already have 10.6.5 with aquamacs installer, you need to download and install the 10.6.5 combo update, then install new nvidia driver before rebooting and presto! it works

Still need to re-add the device id into AppleGraphicsPowerManagement kext as that will be back to default

I saw you post earlier saying you were going to try this and have been hoping it would work for my original install.

Thanks for the info!

Edit: Has anyone tried audio via HDMI?

I haven't even looked at these files, I don't have a Fermi card myself. Which one of those is the device ID of your card?

There may be different versions of the GTX 460 with different device IDs - as is the case with the 9800GTX+ for example, appearing as 0x0612 (which works with vanilla NVDANV50Hal.kext) and 0x0613 (which must be added manually).

Make sure you're adding the device ID for your card and not some GTX 460 device ID you found online.

I have take it from "about this mac" and in windows it saids thats is 0x0e22.

Maybe the problem is related with the card itself, it is not a reference model, is a overclocked one sell by EVGA. I will try a new clean installation using NawCom boot method.

That's fine then. I don't know what can be wrong.

If you're using Chameleon GraphicsEnabler=y, maybe it's making a wrong guess at your PCIRoot? The default is 0 and stays at 0 if Chameleon can't successfully read the PCIRoot from your DSDT. You can try forcing PCIRoot=1 during boot and see if that helps.

And hey, sorry for assuming the worst.

hmmm I'm getting 8.36fps (opengl) on cinebench release 11.5 with GTX470 with the new driver. Anyone getting better performance?

Read my post (#994) on page 50

Gtx480 everythings works fine AND the HDMI sound on every port works now!

The only thing missing is OpenCL and SC2 that hang on startup since 1.1.3 update

Thank you for the HDMI sound confirmation!!!

I was not successful on my GT 430, I did following steps:

1-Clean installation of Mac OS 10.6 and then combo update to 10.6.5

2- Installing chameleon RC5 Rev.619 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes

3-Installed the Nvidia Official Driver.

4- In NVDAGF100Hal.kext in Info.plist, I added this line of Code according to my card

0x0de110de&0xffc0ffff

to IOPCIPrimaryMatch section.

Saved and restarted and no effect at all.

Here is my GT 430 info :

Type: GPU

Bus: PCIe

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 32 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0de1

Revision ID: 0x00a1

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Do I miss any thing? or doing any step wrong?

How did some of you guys get so big FPS numbers?!?! Like 5000+

I just did a fully CLEAN install of 10.6.3, upgrade to 10.6.5 and then installed newest driver.

After reboot and running test it's better then before but my fps doesn't even come to the 500!

Using Asus GTX470.

What did you do to get it that fast?

Just vanilla 10.6.3 from usbstick with chameleon bootloader. Be sure to disable graphics enabler during setup!

What card do you have? I saw your post with the score of 5000+!

How did you manage that?

Read Jocelyn84's post (#994) on page 50

- you need to edit AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext

I just did it and saw huge improvement on opengl performance

Now I wonder if my gpu will stay cool enough...

Does anyone know how to monitor gtx470 temperatures?

Guys, how to make a clean install from some bootcd? I tried ##### 2.5.1 and that fermi one. Still ha ing "still waiting for root device" and when i loads dvd with snow leo it says something like "no dsdt found" so i have to put my dsdt somewhere on the bootcd? I tried changing boot priority, change sata cables unplug etc. Some guide would be great.

I use asus ttx470 and have 5000score in opengl. Try adding your id into applegraphicpowermanagement.kext/i fo.plist like says post above.
