chmod +x updateDrivers.sh ( No such file or directory )

sudo ./updateDrivers.sh (Password:)

I did not enter password yet because the first command line failed.

Am I doing something wrong in the first command line?

My guess is that I need to navigate to desktop in terminal first, but I don't know how.

you need to go to the folder first.

the command should be

cd Desktop/Nvidia\ Drivers/ and then execute the commands.

Thank you for your fast reply, I found it already on a linux forum.

It was cd ~/desktop ( where I copied the files out of the nVidia Drivers map. ) :)

copying extensions to /System/Library/Extensions

./updateDrivers.sh: line 4: cd: Extenstions: No such file or directory

done copying extensions to /System/Library/Extensions

copying Frameworks to /System/Library/Frameworks

done copying Frameworks to /System/Library/Frameworks

copying remaining files to /Extra

./updateDrivers.sh: line 23: cd: Extra: No such file or directory

done copying remaining files to /Extra

Mac-van-Ferry-Mestrovic:desktop ferrymestrovic$

I try to look at line 4 and 23 in your script and see if I can do it manually.

Please keep in mind that I'm using Dutch a main language. ( Folder names seem to be different )

I fixed 2 errors in your script.

1 You wrote down Extensions as Extentions.

2 When done copying files it did not return to nVidia Drivers map and therefore not finding maps.

After these fixes your script worked like a charm.

Right after the files were copied Safari went loko without even restarting.

After a restart, no QE and could not use safari without going loko again, the only page working on it was google, so I went searching for NVCAP_0615 String because I could not download NVCAP maker. After I made the change in boot.plist it went black after restart ( no surprise here ) So I am now reinstalling OSX.

It did however see VGA ghost display, but I don't see how that is different with the 8800 rom?

Think about it

*Old GFX drivers

*Safari going loko

*No QE and fans running wild ( which can probably be fixed by adding other modifications )

*Using a 9800gt rom, while I use GTS250 OC Edition.

You'd be better of just using either the 8800 rom or buying a compatible card.

Sadly, it did not work for me. And I'm not going to try again ;)

Thank you for your effort.

You may reply now, I won't bite you for making a mistake :)

Anyone got any idea yet?

I sure do.

Perhaps a g92 card with native HDMI out and use that bios to override your vbios?

Perhaps fake a ghost display without using a wrong vbios rom.

What about NVCAP values, perhaps you can fool OSX your graphics card has a native HDMI out.

Just throwing it out, better than a dead thread. :)

I already did.

I have no problem running OSX 10.6 retail without updates.

But some important applications that needs to be updated requires OSX to be updated as well.

Oh, and I'm trying out parallels right now. (WinXP to keep it light)

It runs OK, not 100% like they claim it to be. ( obviously )

-edit-

Got OSX running at full speed with everything working except HDMI and sleep.

But I think I might install Windows any second now.

My PC is not designed for it, and neither am I.

Hi all.

Well, I´m here to share my experience with an 9800 GT - 512 Mb - VGA | DVI | HDMI - 256 bits DDR3 + SnowLeo 10.6.6 + Samsung BX2350 (VGA + 2 HDMI).

Let me start...

Using strings or GraphicsEnabler didn´t helped me at all. Only VGA was available using this methods.

When I changed to NVEnabler, I was able to make all my ports work, BUT, only 1024x768 resolution is available.

I tried following some foruns that says to insert Device ID into NVResman.kext and NVDANVX0HAL.kext but as this explanations aren´t so clear, none of this methods worked for me in changing resolutions.

I´m in search of one solution that helps me with this issue.

Some site says that I need to have NVCAP and .rom of my GFX, but I don´t know how to deal with this and by now I don´t have much time to google for it.

Any help is appreciated on this issue.

Cheers,

bb.

EDIT 1 - News

NVEnabler, according to Krazubu, deals with NVCAP automatically.

NVDANV50HAL.kext - for some GFX generations - need the ID from your GFX but NVDAResman.kext doesn't need it.

Cheers again,

bb.

I cant download the package (rapidshare free account are limited to 10 downloads). Could someone put it somewhere else? Dropbox, mediafire, etc?

By the way, i'm loosing hope about have 2 monitors working with 10.6.6. Maybe i'll change my 9800GT finally... is there any graphic card that work easily without HDCP and other issues, on 10.6.6 64bits?

I did it. But after "Press any key to continue..." everything freeze, and does not respond to key-press

UPD: I did it! Everything works perfectly! FPS 4000, DVI-HDMI(TV), VLC, etc...

1. You should use NVEnabler or DSDT with GFX section (my choice) + new boot!

2. You should use files from 10.6.1 + changed NVDAResman.kext, GeForce.kext, NVHDANV50Hal.kext + Frameworks (GL & CL) + GraphicsEnabler = Yes in com.apple.boot.plist

All needed files: http://rapidshare.com/files/442925997/10.6.5_sstyle.zip

20110116224614.jpg

UPD: Another variant instead DSDT\NVEnabler is new boot + NVCAP_devid in com.apple.boot.plist

1. Place boot to /

2. Extract NVCAP with NVCAPMaker from rom file of your Video Card and add it to com.apple.boot.plist:

Hi

I have troubles with my Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT on my hackintosh ( 10.6.6 retail).

I tried to get files you upload on rapidshare to finally use my sony tv as a dual screen...

But on rapidshare your files have been removed!!!!

So can you please tell me where i can find them....

it's been 2 month that i tried to make it works with no succes at all!!!!

if your technique works.... then you must be a genius!!!

Stop it already, it simply will not work.

You're better off buying a compatible graphics card or a real Mac.

Kexts may work, but they are choppy and problematic as hell.

Time to get a new video card. Thanks for the motivational push.

I'm thinking a GTX 260 with dual DVI outputs. Anyone objections?

How about the GTX 285?

I wantto report that I installed Lion GM on my Hackintosh using the guide from Maldon (sticky thread on osx installation forum). My Gigabyte Silent Cell 9800GT 1GB graphics card works with NVenabler. However the dualscreen blank issue with DVI/HDMI is still persistent.

I ordered an active HDMI splitter, hope this way I can hook up my Monitor and TV to my hackintosh. Will report how that goes when it has arrived.

Installed 10.6.7 on Intel 945gntlkr + pentium D945 + Asus en9800gt 1 Gb

This is HTPC. Television is 50" Samsung plasma. Everything is several years old.

>> Everything perfect but no go with dvi-hdmi!

>> DVI-DVI works out of the box with GraphicsEnabler=Yes

>> Tried almost everything efi inj,nvidiarom... No luck!!!!

I have exactly same situation. Dvi-hdmi not work. Period. - I like to say every bad words, which I have found "Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers " -comics. And declare war with someone... huoh...

(˜Tilt.)

On the other hand dvi-dvi with big Samsung monitor works well.

This hdcp -situation is miserable.

I use now dvi-vga connector and high quality vga cable. 1920x1080x32 works well. Fortunately TV have plentiful connectors. Picture is sharp and do not any waving. This is, what I must be satisfied and content myself.

I recommend to go where the hence and edge is low.

Tuure , digital eunuch.

-.-

Edit: Questions: How about " hdmi 1x2 splitter " , do this machine:

... some synthetic handshake, which fool this hdcp ?

Trying to solve a problem with Flash Player I ended up in a german forum and a solution for this is posted (my gpu is a 9800gt 512MB Vendor: 0x10de Device ID: 0x0614):

1. download macpro8800gt.rom (link below)

2. rename macpro8800gt.rom -> 10de_0614.rom (or whatever your dev-id is) and place it in the /Extra folder.

3. Add these lines to boot.plist (the one in Extra)

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>UseNvidiaROM</key>

<string>yes</string>

<key>VBIOS</key>

<string>yes</string>

After the reboot I got DVI/HDMI working without any issues in Lion 10.7.1, dual display and everything!!!

macpro8800gt.rom

This is the page where I found this:

Actually using the 8800GT Mac version ROM seems to be the preferred method to solve this issue and has been discussed at length already, in this very thread. Unfortunately it will only work with a handful of video cards.

From the looks of it a repost of the information was needed by now so thanks!

@iLeopod & @Gringo Vermelho & @ snowmusicman

Yesterday, I "re-"installed Lion 10.7 via mald0n's guide, and the script by (I'll credit the creator here shortly).

On the almost Vanilla install, I tried with the attached MacPro 8800GT BIOS ROM file.

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>UseNvidiaROM</key>
<string>yes</string>
<key>VBIOS</key>
<string>yes</string>

Not using NVEnabler x64.kext.

Have a perfected DSDT by mald0n for Lion, which was manually edited (by me) to include my GFX card DSDT code.

The "ISSUE":

I get verbose text output while booting. As soon as the GUI kicks in, It displays a blank screen.

NOTE: The OS is running in the background, as it can is quite understood looking at the HDD LED light. I use the restart/sleep/shutdown Shortcut (Control+Eject) via keyboard, and shutdown the machine.

Currently, posting from my stable SL 10.6.8.

Can anyone help about getting this thing (HDMI) working? Pleeeaase? Ease this one out, please...

Regards,

Dear snowmusicman.

Could you please share your DSDT, or any other kexts or mods you have done so to get your 9800GT running?Share your model no, manufacturer, device id, vendor id, RAM, etc, please. It will help us in fixing this for the best. Please?

I was NEVER able to get to "Desktop", if i used any Video BIOS file, along with chameleon injection of all such.

I therefore had compiled my DSDT with GFX card injection in it. This was easier, and actually was faster than having NVEnabler x64.kext running the GFX card.

However,

I ask so, coz I made some progress on this issue.

I added the GFX BIOS .Rom file to the /Extra folder, changed the org.chameleon.boot.plist, and also added the NVenabler x64.kext.

All this in Lion 10.7.1.

Now, I can boot with the BIOS file, and get to desktop GUI too, with QE/CI enabled, when my 20-inch LCD is connected through the DVI port.

But, it still does NOT support HDMI output.

I think we are quite near breaking this, only if we contributed together.

Regards,

Freaky Chokra :(
