Hey. I just upgraded from using a 9400 GT 512MB with the EFI string to a 9800 GT 1GB with the EFI string. The card is recognized properly in System Profiler but I don't have QE/CI. I had QE/CI with just the EFI string on the 9400. Also the card's fan is running at maximum speed all the time now. I'm guessing I need additional kexts, but google results are mixed. Any ideas? Thanks!

Heh, I just ran the OpenGL Extensions viewer and everything passed up until 3.0, which sounds right. Also, iDVD runs and IIRC that's one of the programs that complains when you don't have hardware acceleration. Oh and my menubar is transparent. So I guess I have QE/CI, even though it's not shown in System Profiler. o_O

I have just yesterday upgraded my card from a 9500GT to an Inno3D 9800GT 1GB (I only went to buy a new cpu cooler & seen it at a bargain price!!! :P ) I was also installing another Snow on a new hd (Retail install with seperate partition for cham instead of the "fluked" install I previously had ) and used my EFI string as I usually would but could not get it working with graphics enabler, nvinject didnt work either but got it going with NVEnabler64, seems to run fine but I too failed the 3.0 test and as you have stated system profiler doesn't show it up as QE/CI but it clearly is ( ripple from adding a widget, dvd player blah, blah.... )

So what's my point you ask?......

1. - I'd be intrested to know what make your card is

2. - Every so often at random intervals the mouse lags for a split second, not to an annoying extent but I have noticed it, does yours do this? Seems my "noobness" shines through here! I never had disabler.kext installed, oops! ;)

Works fine here using DSDT injection.

Same question's to you STLVNUB but I wondered if you could elaborate on the DSDT injection method?

Could you elaborate on the DSDT injection method?

SL's System Profiler does not show anything about QE/CI, presumably because all Macs that can run Snow Leopard have video cards that support it.

Lord_Jeremy (the wicked) it sounds like you're still using the device properties string that you were using with your old card? Try making a new one.

it worked for me fine with NVenabler

Weird how many different way's of getting it working there are, maybe depends on hardware combination (motherboard etc... ) dunno really but it is intresting hearing how other's have setup the same card.

Intresting, I was not aware of that, I just assumed it would be there, thanks for clearing that up
