hey guys!

So here is my problem:

I've tried a lot of compilations (iAtkos,iDeneb,Leo4All even Hazard SnowLeo) But always getting kernel panic in random moment. For example i am runnig adium and transmission and after some minutes(really it's random) got kernel panic(screenshot included).

My last setup was Leo4all, updated to 10.5.8 using AMD combo update. After setup i am using osx86 tools to setup my videoadapter, azaliaaudio for sound and nforcelan.kext fo my network.

My specs:

Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4

AMD Athlon x2 5200+

nVidia 9800GT 512

4Gb ram

by the way after installation i changed my kernel to voodoo 9.8.0 and it worked the exatly way as the original kernel in leo4all compilation (forgot how it;s calle, smth like XNU)

32-bit DMA addressing bug in AppleNforceATA.kext.

Boot with maxmem=2048, if it doesn't crash then that's your problem.

Read more about it here:

I believe you have the same nForce 570 SLI Northbridge and MCP55 Southbridge chipsets as I do on my Asus board. As Beerkexd mentioned there may be newer versions of this kext but I have been using the same one originally found on this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127611

The link in the first post takes you to a Google Code site. The one near the bottom dated Oct 2008 is the one I use: http://darwin-ata.googlecode.com/files/App...rceATA.kext.zip

If you have any problems you can try the Test version or experiment with the maxmem flag. Before I found this modified kext I did a test by leaving Activity Monitor open and trying to force the Kernel Panic. After a few times I found for my machine that 3.5GB was pretty stable. This is different on every machine.
