iComputer
I updated to 10.6.5 by accident and it broke audio, shutdown and sleep. Here's what I did to fix the problem: I applied the audio patch from post #1 then ran Kext Utility. After REBOOT, Audio, Shutdown, Sleep and Restart are fixed. . I hope this helps. Nice tip! I forgot to test audio because I use some Logitech USB Headphones, but indeed audio was not working. Don't know why, but that fix for AppleHDA.kext also fixed the shutdown/restart/sleep issues. Now I can sleep too:) Thanks

careyr69
I did get it fixed, but I used the Voodoo method. It works well now. I just need to now figure out how to get my two video cards to power my four monitors. Also on startup my second monitor is always flipped. I also need to learn how to use all the core of my cpu (8) it's only using 4 now. My terminal would not allow me to type after dragging the file into it. Therefore, I could not enter a password. Thanks for your help. Do you know where I can find how to solve those other two issues?
Maddeen
I get it fixed too. I got an ASUS P6T Deluxe - Update 10.6.5 works fine except audio, restart (shutdown) sleep. After running Patcher from Post #1 and kext utility everything is fixed and works fine thx a lot

Thanks for your help. Do you know where I can find how to solve those other two issues? You are heading into unknown territory here with your hardware. You can go to link below for Dual GTX260's working with a i7 920 cpu. Part of the solution was using different DSDT versions, you do not have this choice with the 965. If you are unable to find a tested solution it may involve decompiling the DSDT's that worked for the 920, then work out what is different to the ones that didn't then 'try' these 'differences' adjusted in 965 DSDT. There is no guarantee and it will work and it will quite possibly involve you learning new skills, there are some good DSDT editor programmes around to assist. As to 4 not 8 cores working if you are absolutely sure it is not just a cosmetic issue and the Computer itself is only running on 4 cores search for others with this processor and if they have same problem &/or solutions. BTW after drag .sh file to terminal press enter/return then you will be prompted to enter your password, key this in then enter/return again. As to flipped monitor you may be able to set this within OSX there is many good tutorials out there. Ampage
Hi Guys, Just want to say firstly, great work with this. I've got my hackintosh up and running in a perfectly usable state thanks to this thread. Just a few issues to iron out. One of which is bugging me a little. Firstly, I have to boot in 32bit mode, with graphics enabler=n since my graphics card (XFX ATI Radeon 5750) will not work in 64bit mode. Has anyone else seen this work in 64bit mode? (Apologies if this is the wrong place, I can go and ask this in the graphics forum) Also, System profiler thinks its a 5770.. All 3D effects seem to work well though. Secondly - And probably more relevant to this thread - My System Profiler, and "About this Mac" show my memory as DDR2 800mhz. I infact have DDR3 1600 ram in there (6GB Worth) It shows as that full speed in my bios. Could this be because I am running the OS in 32bit mode as mentioned above? Also, my core i7 930 only shows 4 cores, I understand this should be seen as 8. Again is this because of 32bit mode? (Actually, I guess it must be?) Specs: Mobo: ASUS P6X58D-E (basically a P6T from what I've read, and all seems to work) CPU: Intel Core i7 930 Ram: 6GB Kingston HyperX Video: XFX ATI Radeon 5750 HD Audio: M-Audio Fast-Track Ultra (works beautifully because there's mac drivers) Build: OSX 10.6.5 Snow Leopard. Looks like I need a better supported graphics card huh Thanks for your patience!
iBdb
Hi good to hear all working with your hardware. If you read back the past half dozen or so pages here the answers to your queries are there, Updated chameleon to fix ram recognition and links to threads for latest on 5xxx cards, they are tests so please do read then research how too's elsewhere if you don't know how. If your lucky you just may have a supported card and if it's not consider providing the info asked for to help improve further development & support.. Sorry would be nice if... but i7 930 only 4 core.

Try to check your computer's output samplerate and the samplerate that your ampli or speakers set input is waiting for...if they are not in synch, you get no sound. Just an idea suggested from the fact we are in a digital domain. First try with Win to be shure everything else is ok.

I have tried one more time in peace , first in W7 and it worked at once - no samplerate changing. Thaen I switched to SnowL, and guesst what, its working here too - the onlu Minus is that the main volume regulator isnt working, You can onlu adjust the volume slider in Itunes, but the main volume slider remained gray(unusable). inovice
Hi Everyone, I have one very stupid question, I remember asking this question previously but I did not get any answer. I will explain first what is the problem and then ask my question, so please bear with me. 1. So I have SL and it is stable, now from time to time I show my presentation/work stuff to other teammates remotely using teamviewer. I do not have any problem and I never told anyone about the hack thing (its just that no one ever asked me about the hardware). They always think I use a Mac. The problem that I have is that sometime when I search for file in my root drive for information, some people notice the boot file in my root directory and there have been couple of questions asked about this. 2. As dumb as I am, if I hide the file i cannot boot into SL. So I would like to know if there is a way of hidding this file (hidden file or something). Please forgive me for my stupid question, I did not find any related topic about this. Thus I thought that it might be more helpful if I as knowledgeable person about this. I hope you can enlighten me on this sitaution. Thanks in advance.

So the structure in your Hard disk still "intact" the same as a original Mac (we talk about a retail install). so... 1) Initialize an Hard Disk 2) From another working OSX (partition) install the 10.6.0 (or 10.6.3) and always from that you can upgrate to last 10.6.5 3) look on this trend maybe the post #2 for how too USB method (format the device and install the bootloader on it) 4) Apply the Patch like Yokun2 and AppleHDA (in this case take care about the PATH the script in the first post can't do that). 5) Now you boot is always from USB (on ASUS mobo press F8 during the system startup) select it... I hope this simple explain help you, I use this method on 1 of my partition and works like a charm. Fabio
inovice
First thing first..... Fabio hahahahahahha....where is your previous avatar? You guys made me jealous, I`ve added an avatar too!! It the best I can find that match me lol Hey, thank for writing back, I undetstand what you mean. I was msitaken before about DSDT and Boot file. So I just try your method and boot from a thumb drive (an old USB stick which I have connected and left inside my case). I have 2 additional USB ports on my mobo, I used that and can boot fine. Thanks Fabio!!

iBdb
Can someone perhaps tell me the origin why my system gets grey screen (computer hardware issue) when I restart or shut down Try removing second GFx card to start with. I think (don't quote me on this) that a while back iFabio did post a custom DSDT for someone with dual 9800's. Hunt back through this thread & try find it.. I try to install with an external HDD drive with the second post procédure... Does something go wrong? someone with the same errors? At first this appeared to be a SATA problem by your description, but not so sure. If you have carefully retraced setup steps and confirmed bios settings it should be working. Are you using correct steps for 4870 relevant to S/L install version (it's easy to mix up some times). I have read 'some' people are having problems with this card on 10.6.5, however I gather your only at first start up stage.. Hard Drive & Sata cables OK ??
