muffin92
I reinstalled SL with the package and the 2.5 DSDT.aml, but my sleep problem is still up to date (Sometimes my system goes to sleep, but just for 15-60 minutes, and sometimes it doesn't go to sleep, but the TFT turns to black and I can't do anything with my mouse or keyboard). Therefore I tried to delete the VoodooPS2Controller.kext (I'm using an apple usb keyboard), but without any success. Is it possible that my TFT is causing the sleep problem, because it is a very old one (with dvi + vga, but I use DVI)? Can somebody help me please? Thanks, muffin92
ic0nic
Hey guys thanks for the tutorial! I have an issue present when I attempt to install. Everything works well until the initial code screens end, then I'm presented with a blank screen. I have tried -x, this did nothing; GraphicsEnabler=n, caused the screen to turn off, as did GraphicsEnabler=n arch=i386. Any further things that I can try or any ideas in general? My system: - i7 920 - P6T Deluxe V2 - 12GB RAM - GTX275 SLI - Single DVDRW and HDD both using SATA Thank you! ***EDITED*** For those that may care, in performing isolation tests I removed one of the video cards and this fixed the problem. Thanks again for the guide!
ic0nic
Now that I have the system functioning with a single card, I wish to use the second one again. However, when I do this trying to use the DSDT method I get a message after the grey apple screen saying "You need to restart your computer". Does anyone know of a good guide for DSDT that might fix my problem relevant to the whole P6T deluxe v2 context?

sox78
I am attempting to use the flash drive method to install SL. However, I am getting a kernel panic right when the installer GUI should be appearing. If I use "GraphicsEnabler=no" the monitor goes into sleep mode (flashing power led). I have tried this alone and with "arch=i386" and get the same result. I am using a GTX 295, so I have also tried the ATY.295.fix by adding the .kext and using the "-e" option, but the results are the same. Any suggestions on my next steps would be greatly appreciated. imacken
Guys, I know it's a little OT, but can you help with this. I'm sure I used to have a few cores showing in Activity Monitor/CPU window, but now there is only one. Sys profiler shows total number of cores to be 4. Screen grab attached. Does that seem right for my i7 920? (I posted this already on the forum, but got no replies.) Thanks.

st3p
Geekbench 2.15 and Ibench 1.1.2(15) Yeah, same as me, and same result. If you look at their on line database there are a lot of hackintoshes out there...so, maybe it's impossible for a 3.1 to have better results than a 4.1...much better results I mean...astonishing results...maybe they inserted some rules that, if satisfied, they tell it's an hack, not a mac. For example, as in my case, an i7 920 running at 3.3...it MUST be an hack. A Pro with i7...? It's an hack! Simple but true!
pOxbOx
Hi guys, I currently use iMac11,1 as my system identifier, i read that many of you are using macpro3,1 or macbook4,1. Is there any benefit to use them ? Also i have read about editing plists/fakeSMC, What is actually the best to get a stable/faster system ? imacken
Thanks. Yes, Geekbench reports correctly, so why do I only see one thread in Activity Monitor? I'm sure there used to be more windows than one! If anyone is interested, the answer to this is that you have to double-click on the window in Activity Monitor to show all threads. In my opinion, actually you get best results with a MacPRO 3.1 The discussion took place here one week or 10 days ago between me, iFabio and Dgobe. undadawg316
Hi Thanks for this amazing guide, i have a few questions 1) my i7 920 was overclocked to 3.66GHz so all the bios settings were custom. I had to change all the settings in my bios to follow your guide, therefore my cpu is now at stock speed. After i sucessfully get OS X up and running can I re-overclock my cpu (this will change some of the bios settings)? 2) I want to dual boot Windows 7 and OS X. They are both installed on different hard drives. Is there any way to make it boot windows by default and then mac osx if i press a button during boot or something? 3) SUCCESS!!! I successfully installed OS X on my 640GB hard drive and it is up and running . Some glitches though. When i go to About This Mac it shows my processor as a 2.67 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, when it is an i7. Also can i go ahead and use the software update and install the latest updates? THANK you for this amazing guide, i was always scared to attempt installing OS X until i read this! Props

They are both installed on different hard drives. Is there any way to make it boot windows by default and then mac osx if i press a button during boot or something? You can use the Chameleon Preference Pane from the installer ISO to experiment with the 'Quiet Boot', 'Default Paritition', and 'Timeout' settings. Look back a few pages for a the boot.zip file I posted. Using that will show Core i7. Fabio also has a post that shows the values to put in /Extra/smbios.plist that will work too. Updates work fine but 10.6.3 breaks audio, there is a patcher on the installer ISO that fixes it.
