Hi

I've got an Asus X58L laptop which I have managed to get running Snow Leopard (in 64-bit mode). It seems to run fine however if I boot the laptop from cold when it gets to the Desktop all I get is a screen with dark grey banding on it. As far as I can tell OSX is running in the background, but I can't see anything so can't actually use it! If I switch off the laptop by holding the power button down then switch it straight back on it works perfectly. Similarly, I am dual-booting with Ubuntu and if I boot into Ubuntu then restart the machine it boots without a hitch.

The laptop uses Intel X3100 graphics. I don't recall having this problem until I installed the update to 10.6.2, which included the 64-bit X3100 drivers (before then it was presumably using some kind of default graphics driver.) Can anyone suggest how to get around this problem?

If it helps, I had installed Leopard using iAtkos previously and it had the same problem.

Thanks in advance.

Matthew
