I haven't found anyone with this problem I've been looking for weeks.

This is the problem

the main dvi port works with the moniter with a dvi to vga adaptor

If i plug in the tv to the second dvi port with a dvi to hdmi adaptor it freezes

the tv works if i hook it up to the main dvi port and start up the computer, but it looses signal when the desktop loads

Is this a problem with the graphics card or with the kext or something I'm new to all of this ex windows users sorry

I'm having the same issue on my system.

It appears to be a problem with Sony Bravia HDTVs and Mac OS X. My particular model is a 32 inch KDL-32P5600 and it refuses to work over DVI but works flawlessly over VGA.

I'm running 10.6.2 with Chameleon 2 RC4 on (EFI partition boot):

- Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5

- Core i7 920

- MSI GTS 250 (1GB) Dual DVI

- Fujitsu Siemens 26-inch LCD over DVI

- 32-inch Sony Bravia KDL-32P5600

- Graphics enabler=yes, pciroot=1, EFI string

I have also tried connecting over DVI using Chameleon 2 RC3 and two different EFI strings but to no avail.

I even tried to use an iPhone VNC client to configure SwitchResX v4.1.1 when both monitor and TV were connected over DVI and DVI-to-HDMI cable respectively, but I'm not able to connect to the computer (as if it hasn't booted properly - although monitors only go black when the desktop loads).

Just search "Sony Bravia" on Apple's Discussion forums for a list of complaints about connecting Macs to Sony Bravia HDTVs.

Does anyone have a fix for this?
