SanFranShootr
Are you always booting from your USB drive? Is Snow Leopard installed in your USB drive? If not, that is the problem right there, you will have to replace your USB drive boot file with kabyl's. I'm currently using my flash-stick to load Chameleon. SL is not on the USB, its on a HD. I think that I do have Kabyl's boot file on my USB because the Chameleon start-up screen says rev486 which ifabio said was the Kabyl boot. (NOTE: I specifically checked the size of the rev486-boot-file versus the rev643-boot-file and ensured that the Kabyl-rev486 was on the USB stick) The Chameleon startup screen gives me a choice of either of my two SnoLeopard partitions, an older iDeneb 10.5.8 on HD2, and my Vista on HD3. Maniac10
Just to be sure, drop kabyl's boot to your usb drive and confirm the file replacement. Then run this file attached (just double click it) and copy all the info and share it here so we can take a look.

SanFranShootr
read through this guide mate I read through the guide 3 times and used it to create a USB HD boot drive (up to the point of doing the actual SL 10.6.0 install onto another drive - which I don't need since I've already got 10.6.5 running on two different HD partitions - just not full-max-functioning with the 5770). Also, I found that I had to disable his DSDT file to get it to boot. Is there a particular passage in this guide that you felt I would particularly benefit from? notshy
Kabyl boot file doesn't need the UseATIRom string unless you have the card in a different slot or more than 1 card. Also if you are using Vervet then you don't need that string either. So please remove these two! However I thought that the official mac card needed the Hoolock framebuffer? Try that at Chameleon boot screen: AtiFb=Hoolock and see what that does - if it works better then add that to your boot.plist but if you want to use Vervet then you can remove the AtiFb string. FKA
Using GraphicsEnabler with either Kably's boot (from test thread.), chameleon trunk or Mahammed's booter - I've noticed recently I'm getting quite jurky/ choppy motion when I use Vervet as FB. Vervet is the only FB that gives me all output ports. Motmot gives much smoother motion however using either of the DVI ports and the HDMI out I have only options for one monitor and outputs are mirrored. Cinebench scores remain the same for both FB. Currently running through the rest of the monkey based FBs but wondered if anybody else has noticed this problem? D
mr_christer
i noticed a pretty weird behaviour with vervet fb. everything works fine and all outputs work but when i play a video full screen on the tv (connected to hdmi) and turn off the main screen (1st dvi) the video starts playing back choppy. as soon as i turn the monitor back on the video plays fluently... this is kind of annoying since i usually switch off the mon to watch stuff on tv.. anyone else experienced this? FKA
I've just been reminded (from reading netkas site.) that framebuffers where updated in 10.6.5! Currently running Hoolock (default Apple FB for 5770) - I've lost video out of the second DVI port (farthest from HDMI + MD ports.) but still have video out of HDMI and 1st DVI port which is fine for me. Video choppyness is 100% better but I still see the odd glitch/freeze. Cinibench score actually up by 2fps. .. D

Trauma!
Hi FKA: You should be able to use the standard framebuffer (Hoolock) with your card if you add Apple's 5770 rom to Extra and load it with the booter. I've tried it yesterday and it worked fine for me. Note that I've only tested it with one monitor plugged on DVI. But with out the rom, Hoolock gives me mouse lags and I need to plug a VGA dongle into the second DVI port. With the rom everything works fine. For the moment I could not see any difference between Vervet and Hoolock performances, but peoples with more screens/issues may experience better ones. Apple HD 5770 ROM: 1002_68b8.ATI.Radeon.HD5770.Juniper.Apple.rom.zip

D No joy with Hoolock and Juniper ROM - KP unless I use VBIOS=NO, not too surprising ... but No boot with VBIOS=Yes (default). Havent tried to hard so will pickup again tomorrow. D.
