What I can say to you, is that AMD and nForce + OSX is a difficult combination.. OSX supports Intel better.. The distro you may try (which is built epecially for AMD) is LewLess OSX (Google is you friend ) I am still busy myself, but what you may also try (which helped for me) is pressing the Pause/Break button during the initial boot (BIOS), wait a few seconds, and press Enter (Return) to continue.. It sounds weird, but for me it was a solution to the same problem.. The other forum members may help you out better! Good luck!!

sjoewert300
help me ... i'm trying to upgrade my os last 3 weeks ... i ve downloaded iktos 7 and ipc 10.5.6 .. i got kernel panic... i followed -v -x -f cpus=1 plateform=acpi still got i got kernal panic.... help me... thanks Hi, Which distro is this? Which kernel are you booting? Are you booting the install DVD or the HDD now? You can try booting with another kernel: iDeneb: Qoopz 9.7.0: flag 970 Kernel AnV 9.6.0: flag anv Kernel ToH 9.2.0: flag mach_toh Have you already tried LawLess OSX.. This distro is built especially for AMD and nForce machines.. Here the features: *** Chameleon bootloader Ver 1.0.11 (used for DVD booting & installed on drive by default.) *** Modbin 9.4.0 Kernel SSE3 (installed by default) *** Alc888 (audio) 3 port, 6 ports + Digital (Fixed) *** NTFS-3G latest version (solves slow shutdowns) *** ATI SB600 Issue (solves still waiting for root device when trying to install) *** ATI HD-3650 Support (QE/CI Enabled) No white menus!!!) CPU Support In theory this should work on all AMD SSE3 systems Phenom, Athlon X2 etc If after install you can not boot from hardrive try -v -f switches at the Chameleon (Darwin) Bootlader screen. If you get strange graphics on boot you should boot in safe mode (-x switch at Bootloader screen) then install best drivers from within the OS for your graphics chips/card. Source: http://insanelymac.blogspot.com ------------------------------------------ Another thing you can try is use the following boot option: rd=diskXsY (X is the number of the disk (starts at 0), Y is the number of the partition (starts at 1). example: rd=disk0s1) When you boot up your install DVD and you go into Disk Utility you rightclick your partition you want to install OSX to, and then you click info (I'm not sure, but somewhere there is an info button).. Then you can find the disk number and the partition number.. ---- I hope I helped you a little:P Good luck! sjoewert300
