ringterlit
First off, after nearly throwing this Intel MB DP43TF in a lake that I live on, OS X 10.6.2 works on it (near perfectly). But getting here was no picnic. I tried just about every Vanilla installation guide out there and I couldn't get it to work. Either it would hang on "Waiting for root device" or USB bus would not free up the BIOS. I tried (in to articular order): Empire EFI (waiting for boot device) Chameleon 2, 3, and 4 (USB hang) MacLoader_SL_04 (KP with the DSDT.aml file) MyHack_Installer_1.0_RC4_v55 (waiting for boot device) SuperHai Installation guide (constant reboot) Needless to say I was frustrated beyond all hope. I even tried Tiger and Leopard and I got the same {censored}, "Waiting for boot device" or USB hangs. So I download Rebel EFI (didn't want to but figured I give it a try). I booted with Rebel EFI and got past the waiting for boot and the USB hangs. It lets me start installing SL but fails with a KP somewhere at the 17 minute left to go mark. Tried it 5 times and 5 KP's. (Now someone said, I think it was Pradeesh on the Prasys Empire EFI blog, that it was hanging on some video EFI card compatibility check. But since it was installing from the retail SL I didn't know how to stop the check.) So I reboot with Rebel EFI and get to the installing part again and decide to check out some of the utilities and all in all it appeared that this mobo should work. So I am going down the utility list and see the last one, "Restore from Time Machine backup". I said what the heck, give it a try. (I own an alum iMac and a MacBook) So I restore from the TM of the MacBook and it says to reboot. Now I know it won't see the EFI boot partition but I boot anyway and it says "missing OS or something like that. So I said let me try Rebel EFI again and throw it in there and reboot. This time it sees the SL DVD AND my Hackingtosh drive. I boot off the Hackintosh drive (knowing full well this is going to crash and burn) and much to my surprise I see my logon window for my MacBook on my desktop. I log on, run permissions, check things and it appears to be working fine. (It even installed the RAW camera update right from the Apple site.) So I tried getting the HD to boot (used the fdisk thingy, partition ID and what not) and it won't work. I installed Chameleon_DFE_for_hardisks but it just hangs on the Darwin bootloader. So I need some help. I need to know how to get my nVidia 8800GTS 640meg vid card to work (used EFI Studio and that was a no go) and I need to install the VoodooHDA.kext to get my sound working. Also if I could boot off the hard drive that would be nice too. Thanks for your patience. Dan OK, I got the Video Card and Sound working. I only have to figure how to boot off the Hard Drive and I'll be golden...
delphinus87
try installing myHack on your HDD. If that doesn't work by itself (I had Boot:1 errors), install Chameleon 2.0 RC4 on top of it (http://bit.ly/54DkZe). That's what finally worked for me. Good luck ^^

Hi man, i got the same MB, I install the Snow Leopard Universal version v3.6 and no problem with the installation and boot, everithing works cool, only in the start you got the kernel panic, the solution is adding the arch=i386 to work in 32bits enter the os install the chameleon rc4 and comeback to 64. The problem is the find the correct kexts for audio, usb's.
