applefreak09
I'm having problems with booting 10.6.2. Installation went well. Updating to 10.6.2 while in safe mode went well. I can only get SL to boot up in safe mode or ignoring boot caches. I've tired everything I can think of... fresh install, repair extensions, clear boot caches and I still can't get it to boot normally. Any help on the matter would be great. Thanks. Do you use sleepenable kext ?, if you do, replace it with the new 10.6.2 sleepenable kext. No I do not use sleepenable kext. I can't get it to boot at all now. Kernel panics at boot now. applefreak09
I'm still having problems. 10.5.8 boots but 10.6 won't no matter what I do. I'd like to get it going but looks like I might be stuck on 10.5.8 for awhile. applefreak09
Just an update. I got 10.6 to boot finally. I was missing the portinjector kext. I've been stuck at the waiting for root device before on my HP laptop and this seemed to be the same but no hard drive warning icon just the eternal spinning circle grey screen. I compared my Leopard Extra/Extensions folder to my Snow Leopard Extra/Extensions folder and found the kext missing so I hunted down a 64 bit kext and bam it worked like a charm. Updated to 10.6.2, all running smoothly Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/202227-booting-problem-after-install/#findComment-1360639 Share on other sites
