scrax
@ Gabo and scrax: try the new version modified for DDR2 owner here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1413138 It works for the detection, but I have the same oerrror of Blackosx now in System Profiler. another strange thing is that at boot, before loading the GUI, i have a sort of lspci result, and after that i can see the RAM data collected, for every bank I need to press a key to go on. In this part the value are correct. I saw the lspci thing also before the memory code, when i compiled myself the pre8 and pre9

Too bad it seems not to work well with ddr2 because I think I added new code that conforms with DDR2 SPD specification (which btw is very different from the DDR3 one ) After all, it's only a one shot work, I didn't spend weeks on it ... I'll see what I can do.
rachaf
Firstly sorry for my English; I've tried rc5pre10 now and it gave this: dv5_rc5pre10.tiff i have hp dv5 laptop which have this: <key>SMmemmanufacter_1</key> <string>Ramaxel Technology</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter_2</key> <string>Hyundai Electronics</string> <key>SMmempart_1</key> <string>RMN1150EC48D7W-800</string> <key>SMmempart_2</key> <string>HYMP125S64CP8-S6</string> <key>SMmemserial_1</key> <string>00000000</string> <key>SMmemserial_2</key> <string>04004028</string> <key>SMmemspeed</key> <string>800</string> <key>SMmemtype</key> <string>19</string> and i have the the same error of "scrax" I need to press a key many times to load the GUI. rekursor
Welcome back rekursor. :censored2:I'm really happy to see how fast things are progressing here again. I'm also very happy to see the boot0hfs variant in the forge. It'll be very useful for dual boot users. I wish I could test the new versions, but I seriously messed up my system. I hope I get it back up today, to test the memory detection. I hope we can reach a final stable version of RC5 by the time 10.6.3 is released. Once again, many thanks to everyone involved. Thanks, I also broke one of my configs too while trying to help our folks ...
blackosx
and i have the the same error of "scrax" I need to press a key many times to load the GUI. rachaf, That's because that version is a debug version. It's not an error, it's supposed to be there to assist Rekursor in his work.
THe KiNG
There is smth wrong with pre 9, refuse to go on gui on my desk, no idea why... Test is done w/o custom ACPI load(NOT even DSDT) b/c I have all in BIOS modded. Also there is a 3 sec delay b/w flasher cursor and chameleon verbose menu. pre 10 works in same conditions, weird

rekursor
I added Hynix(Hyundai) and Ramaxel vendors, removed debug code by default, user can still see what happens by dumping SPD with "DumpSPD=y" Still no clue for ddr2 users, blackosx did you figured out whats happenings with the profile info ? here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1413138

rekursor
thinks rekursor but in my laptop only Ramaxel is detected, Hyundai not detected ram2.tiff and sorry for my english Interesting, it seems to work for you even if one of your module vendor name is still not recognized ... Do you have any error while gathering information when opening profile details from the about menu ?

How do I use the DumpSPD=y option? as I typed it directly in to Chameleon's GUI but didn't notice anything. I have 30 mins now to try anything you like for tests This is what I see using Pre10b. The memory is correctly detected at this point.
rekursor
no i have no error; (!) ahh, so I believe that my first ddr2 version pre10 screwed up something on ddr2 machines, but then 10b/c versions seem to work well... When I start my broken core2duo/ddr2 config with a boot cd, I can get rid of this error I have, but *not* if I install a previous booter with no mem detection ... So it seems that something has been changed in the boot config that makes this error happening. maybe a kext changed or a bios config resetted ? Will continue to investigate ... The memory is correctly detected at this point. It would be nice if you could test from a backup disk the 10c version to see if it screws up the profile info. Because it works well for rachaf (except a cosmetic vendor name that we'll find out later), so I start to believe that only the first pre10 version screwed up something in ddr2 configs ... inormally putting DumpSPD to y in the boot config should display the same info in 10c, but don't bother with : if it worked with 10b it will work the same with 10c. the only thing to fix is to get back to a state where you don't have the profile error (gathering information)
blackosx
Okay I have tried booting two separate 10.5.8 installs from pre10c on HDD and from a USB stick. Still get the system profiler error. I will now try with two separate 10.6 installs. EDIT: Still no joy I even tried booting without a SMBIOS.plist. I have to go out now but post any other ideas you have for me to try later.. I can integrate this hynix brand if I can get the content of these fields Thanks

rekursor
sorry, but how can i get dump? use the version: RC5pre10b upper in this thread and when the boot wait for a key read the dump ... The fields range is in hexa: 0x40 to 0x47 for ddr2 vendor id. @king: I have no idea about the lag on the laptop But I KNOW now that I can't help for your dimm because all id fields for vendor name are FF, plus I had a check to this Unifosa vendor and it is not registered, sorry about that ... rekursor
The lag is on desktop too... and shows up since pre8, pre7 is fine(with Andy ssdt load) Thanks to iNDi & memtest guys: { 0, 0x01, "AMD"}, ... { 9, 0xff, ""} Might help... I'll try debug one. WOW thanks ! Unfortunately there is not your ram info in it , which confirms what I was saying but neithertheless, there might be another (non standard way to get it as well ...) For now I strictly conform to DDR2 and DDR3 SPD specifications. Btw, what tool did u use to dump the SPD and get the memory report ? Looks interesting ... Also who ar indi and memtest, they seem to know already about SPD ... I only have dealt with it since yesterday, so any suggestion is welcome
THe KiNG
iNDi is one of the Chameleon developers and my friend Memtest is that test app for memory stuff..
